Can you scan the truck at all through the OBD2 port ? If not and there is any aftermarket stuff like a radio, On-Star pull those fuses for the time being. No fuses are pulled and yes I can scan the truck with the scan tool however I cannot flash as it says the ECM is locked which I know isn't true.
The BCM and ECM must be happy to get the vehicle to start. That is why the VATS must be disabled in the ecm then the VIN# will not matter in the ecm for test purposes. I did a search here and tried going in and changing the VIN but it wouldn't let me I also tried to disable the VATS and it wouldn't let me.
If you cannot communicate with the truck and all fuses are OK including the ecm fuse which is powered off the cigarette lighter circuit then there is still something going on between the modules.
If the truck did not crank over then the ecm would be suspect, but it is cranking and coding so it is working. The 2002 ECM will be fine in a 2001 truck, but you have to disable the VATS even if it means flashing it in another truck and swapping it back in. Thats the problem, I cannot disable or change the VIN.
The other code is C0225LF Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit Open. It was hit there wasn't it ?
Yes, I know what the problem is. I lost the sensor bolt in the hub so the sensor itself isn't bolted down. I will fix that though.[/QUOTE]
