If you use this spring, you cannot use the stock clutches or converter as the lining will start to separate. The latest BW clutch material is not very good.
145 psi operating pressure is still way lower than the 230 psi in all previous Allisons so I don't see a problem. No I have not towed with it and be carefull which converter you choose as none out there work very well with this new truck.

So in order to run the spring we will have to also replace clutches and torque converter? Just wanna make sure I am gettin that right?
I am interested in doing it, running an HS tuner on tow or street and don't wanna do any damage to my tranny

That is correct.

Mike, I have a couple questions.

First, can the previous round 6-hole tail housing be swapped on to the LML trans?

Second, is the dynamic pressure control done electrically, or hydraulically. In other words, will an older A40 TCM control this transmission?

Finally, was the dynamic pressure control done for shift feel or fuel economy? Or both?

I like the idea of the trans running lower line pressure when cruising, since it should theoretically use less engine power and thus get better mileage.

My questions are geared towards swappability. So far, the 06-10 trans have been able to be run stand-alone, but only because I can use the 8.1 gas TCM to control them. If the LML trans won't work with the older TCM, then it is of no use to me.

What was the final verdict on the proper converter for the LML Mike? I want to ake sure mine is ready for what's coming. Also, did you develope a kit for it?

There is no proper converter for the LML until I know who's tuning you're running. If you use H&S you must use a Suncoast 1058 or you will be real dead on take off. I run the Suncoast 1058 ( did it before Rob Coddens tuned it ) I now blow through the converter. I installed a Goerend converter in Robs LML and it performed very well. He and I run the same tunes as far as I know.
As far as a kit for the LML; you will need my pressure setup for the pump and valve body. The clutches have been changed and clearance will become an issue. For the sloppy guys that don't give a rats ass about clearance; you will be on a flat bed very quickly.
Don't forget, Allisons are easy.:roflmao:
