Broke in the new engine towing our 30 ft travel trailer from Wyoming to Oregon on my heavy tow tune. Ran perfect, no oil burning, no leaks, all good. But the new engine must be pretty tight still, got a crappy 10 mpg. Hopefully it will loosen up & the mpg's will improve.
My transfer case developed a huge leak from the rear seal coming over the Continental Divide. Had to stop & add a quart every 250 miles or so. Fixed it at my uncle's place in Oregon, rear output support bearing took a dump & wiped out the bushing in the rear case half. Found my high-low range shift fork metal-to-metal while it was apart. Found a transmission shop in Salem that was able to supply me with the parts I needed (and press the new bushing into my rear case half), and we are back on the road with no leaks. He even had a pump rub kit on the shelf, so I did that at the same time.
