Well, it's time for an update. There is no news on the built motor. Today, however, I installed a new cylinder lock housing and lock cylinder.
Had to have a locksmith build it after getting him the key code from the dealership.

The waffers and springs in the old one were destroyed after the thieves messed it up. Once I got that all situated and correct, I moved on to the quick release steering wheel from NRG.

I installed the hub and pulled the steering wheel harness through and the airbag wire harness. Installed some provided wire harness to keep the the airbag dash light from coming on.

Still have some fine tuning to do, but es Como es.

Headed to Troy, Montana, tomorrow for some R&R. Hope all you guy's summer's have been good so far!

Here are some random pics of the day.

Did you just use a fuse?
That's all I used for now. Not sure if it will work correctly since I don't have any electrical in the truck as of now. Just going off of what I've seen others use. Not sure what to do with the steering wheel harness either

If your Oem steering wheel is in good shape and has all the radio/dic controls I’d be interested in purchasing it. Mine started to fray yesterday at 12o’clock and it’s driving me nuts..don’t think I could use a cover either.

Everything on my wheel functions as it should, other then some of the lights on the steering wheel controls are out. I'll get a picture of it when I get back from Montana so you can see for your self.

After I get home from work tomorrow, a friend and I will be taking the truck to the fab shop to get some work done. Fuel cell, trans cooler mounts, re due rear shock brackets and a battery tray for the battery.
My son helped me bleed the brakes, since the fluid has been in their for some time now. Also got rid of the plastic firewall heartier core fittings and installed some WC Fab billet pieces.

I'll grab a few pics tomorrow once it's loaded up.

How do you like the WCFab pieces? I've been using the Dorman stainless steel ones for quite some time and been happy but I do always like to try new things.

Top quality. Comes with 2 rubber O rings that sit inside 2 separate grooves. One lower and one up towards the top of the fitting. Then, a retainer clip locks right in no problem.

Took my boys down to the fab shop to discuss how I want things setup on the truck.

Rhodes race fuel cell has a -8AN feed line, and the inlet for the fuel Lab lift pump is a -10. So I'm gonna have him burn the -8 out and replace with a -10.

He is gonna look into some fuel cooler options for me as well. That will be mounted in front of the fuel cell.

Talked about how I want the trans coolers mounted on the passenger side of the truck to make routing lines easier.

Double adjustable viking shocks will be redone when installing the fuel cell.

As far as access to fuel up the fuel cell, I'm gonna have him cut in an access door, with a 1/4 turn locking mechanism.
Lift pump will be on mounted to the driverside of fuel cell and battery will be on the passenger side of fuel cell.

Also having him install a power kill switch mounted under the bed right next to the battery somewhere. We talked about having the switch come through the roll pan, but I want it to look as stock as possible.

I think that is about it for now. 7.1 stroker is in its final stages and not to far from being shipped back to Scott at SDP

Well, I ended up ordering a cooler for my fuel. Went with a Derale unit with an 8"spal fan. It will definitely be better then that POS stock cooler that probably didn't do much anyway.
Picked up a couple of fittings as well to fit the ports.

Curious, has any one ever monitored the fuel temps before and after the factory cooler? Can't say I have ever seen any info on that.

Looks like real Nice unit though!!!
