I was really trying to find a dog chasing his tail for ya!

Let me ask you this. Is there anyway to monitor the temps in the combustion chamber to see whats going on inside the engine??
Don't knock me out if this sounds stupid but is there any way you could use the glow plug hole to put a guage in?

Wade Moody, aka Accelerator, ProStockRCR, DieselPower, etc, etc, etc, cannot be with us for 7 days.
NASA has called on him to develop a Cummins CR powered Mars lander, so he will be busy.
Either that, or he was trashing tech threads.
Which one could it be?
None of the above.
NASA needs aluminum rods for the space shuttle and it just so happens he has them in stock. ::rofl:

Burst is when you have managed to cool the chamber below auto-ignition temps. Call it a dead load.
But, what do I know......
Is that also known as hydro lock?? Or am I thinking something different. If so, how badly would timing have to be screwed with ona diesel to cause cyl temps to drop that far???
You can estimate the chamber temps from the pressure plot IF you know the initial temp of the air charge.
I would guess that temp is most effected by cylinder pressure so since we know our cylinder pressure one could get close by using PV=NRT
Just curious, how much do you think the charge cooles from the time it is burned until it reaches the EGT probe in the header? I dont think It would be very much due to the specific heat of air.
Correct, PV = nRT will give you the temps in the chamber BUT you need the starting temp of the charge.
Trick question on the cooling, since under pressure, the gases will be at a much higher temp anyway. In general, 1/3 of the heat goes into the chamber walls and the piston, 1/3 is converted to mechanical energy, and only about 1/3 goes out the pipe. The ratios vary some with the tune and the mechanicals of the system. If I have enough time tonight, I will finish the estimated temperature plots from the pressure data and post.
Where is our IAT measured with EFI Live? I though it was post intercooler near the MAP sensor but this is just my assumption.
I ordered some of this but after they told me the shipping costs I canceled the order. Would have to add something for lubrication to this stuff for our engines too wouldn't you?http://www.syndiesel.com/index.html
60 Cetane and it is thinner than regular pump diesel so it should flow better. I know no one that runs it but it sound good.
Do to me learning how to build one of these engines. I did not have enough clearence in the guides and I ran valve seals.:banghead: No valve seals and more clearence fixed it.
