Motor

I would think if your seeing smoke you have everything working. It sounds like to me you have to much fuel or not enough heat to start. Plug the truck in and make sure your tune matches to injectors on the low end. Did you lower the comp in the motor? I hope you figure it out. Jeff

That may be it Jeff I do have 100 overs in now where my tunes where made for stock injectors. The comp was only lowered a little I have socal cut and coated stock pistons with vavle releases in them.

Is smoking white at all? If so that Pat agrees that could be your problem.

No Run

No it would not cause a code. I bet your comp is lower than you think. Are you running c gaskets and with what piston height? With low comp and more fuel it's hard to get the heat up to start. If your smoking you have fuel. Jeff

Not running

I'm no pro but I had the same problem with my motor when it gets below 50* with big injectors. It took me a little bit to figure out. If you or Dustin needs anything just give me a call. Thanks Jeff 740-808-6728

I dont think the injector tuning is you problem...I started mine right up with 100 overs duel fuelers and twins changed nothing in the tuning even drove decent down the road!

Also it was about 40 degrees out and the motor was dead cold...i did drain the test port up front with the lift pump running and it started after about 4 spins.

Well I thought I would call the dealer ship today and see if they could think of anything. Well they informed me that diesels don't have cam senors at all so I don't know what I'm talking about....

Well Dustin loaded a tune for the injectors on the truck still with no luck. Seems I will be down there tomorrow and will take the font of the motor apart and check everything out. Maybe I messed up somewhere. He did mention there might be a problem with my FICM so we might try his. If that doesn't work I'm not sure. Might be forced to get a stock running motor or something.

I was getting a crank and cam sensor codes. My low voltage ref. was out of wack on my crank sensor. Tried new sensors, swapping stuff, and all kinds of shit, turns out the ECM was bricked. Picked up a new one from Nick at dmaxtuner, plugged it in and the truck fired right up.

Try this flow chart, its what I used, I got it from Nelson Diesel.
