IMO, that was probably your problem in the first place. Not that the rest wasn't creeping up on you for later down the road.

If you want to play with your truck's parts, and make money with it, you need to keep some spares. I do for the engine anyway.
Short Block
Spare heads
Spare injector set
Spare turbo
Full gasket Set
Spare CP3
Spare ECM

All are stock, but will get me back on the road in a pinch.

What I don't have, is a spare transmission, but I haven't played with that for over 10 years now.

Well got ~15k on engine #4.5 definitely runs better! Able to hold higher mph through hills when heavy to. The oval crackle exhaust note is a lot louder, especially above 13psi boost..
Runs cleaner, mpg is up, I'm sure camshaft would be a lot more effective with more fuel.. part throttle response is substantially better with the Hamilton camshaft vs OEM LMM/LBZ cams.. definitely glad I didn't send it back!
Im sure RLD or similar exhaust manifolds and up pipes would complement the camshaft.

What about exhaust temp and your oil consumption?

Oil consumption is back to normal.. used about 6qts additional first 10k. And I've burnt maybe 1qt in last ~5k..been running hills and a trip out to Idaho.. plus I'm running ohio to Carolinas this week..

Fresh rings make egts screwy.. peak temps haven't changed max is about 1150° pre turbo probe is in PS up pipe.
Just rolling on the trottle
With stock cam.. temps would quickly jump 1-200° then level off
With the 192/200 Hamilton camshaft.. I still get similar 1-200° increase.. just takes longer

Tuning is still same as before

I'll probably wear these rings out... As they are Ductile vs SS that I should have put in it... But didn't know till after the fact.. which will probably be Xmas week

well atleast the ductile certain seats faster than the SS does lol
