I didn't think the mains studs were interchangeable hence the two different p/n's when you order? Or at least used to be.

Sure seems like a lot of mistakes for a shop that is supposed to be one of the good ones. Sure wish something would go right for you for once.

The over boreing wasn't the shops fault.. Since the front office never relayed the message I gave to the front office..

How many people know all little difference between the lb7-LML blocks?
I don't.. I know some.. Though found out some more today..
Lb7/LLY and LBZ/LMM water pumps are different not just inlet diameter but mounting points are different as well..
The LMM/LBZ will work with LB7/LLY stuff but not the other way around..

There are differences in upper oil pan between the two groups as well..

I have an LLY block with an LMM front cover and pump. I wrote all this up when I did the swap. I ground a nut down a little on one side and put a bolt through it. No big deal for the last 20k miles this block has on it.

The rest of the front cover lines up fine. Just that one water pump hole. Used Delco silicone on the cover and no leaks or anything at that spot. Guess there is enough bolts around it to keep it sealed up.

Man I hope they are working with you on the price for all this. Between the machine shop and the front office they have cost you a lot of money, not to mention potential earnings

I didn't pay for the second block to get done..... Also got new block heater as well for it.

The biggest part was the extra week down for the machine shop to do another block.

Might have jumped little soon... Kinda edgy on stuff not being right as of late...
Seeing harpin picture is a relief.. Going to be more of a PITA to change a water pump when it fails..though
