That Chris Craft gives me wood. Especially if it's eventually going to have some outriggers and a mini tower.....?

You outta see how much the motors that go in front of them cost:D.

I like my outboards though. 4X350 is plenty fast and never blow up or break down.

Oh I know. I was looking at the volvo penta diesel that would fit in my bluewater and i about shit what they wanted for a used one.

No tower, just hard top with outrigger bases.
Hard top and bolsters were dry fitted then removed while I finished the non skid and drainage stuff. Most of my fishing is on outboard boats, the new stuff is very dependable but I don't know of any 35'+ outboard rigs getting more than 1.5 mpg. If you need serious range then you got to run diesels.

I run 168 miles offshore. Quad verados. 565 gallon tank. Never shut the engines down, usually run for 48 hours straight. I'm addicted to speed. We get lots of pretty smooth days here in the Gulf, nothing like flying 75mph home getting an honest .9mpg. 1.3mpg is my best cruise to date. I agree and you got a badass boat and project.
