The oil pump on these must be a good one, my work truck is the LGH idles at 600 rpm and holds pretty good I think it stays well above 25psi need to double check actual psi. Good luck on your motor hope it holds some good power.

Well. Finding rod bearings has become harder than expected. GM doesn't even show a listing for green rod bearings for "A" grade rods. Only thing they show are yellow bearings for "B" grade rods, which are thicker.

Finally found rod bearings for it. Also found out that there is 2 different designs of rods for a LML. 1st design has rod bearings that are compatible with previous year models 01-10. 2nd design (which is what I have) takes different rod bearings. The locating tangs on the 2nd design rod bearings line up, unlike prior year models which are on opposite corners.

Managed to get the short block finished today. So far everything is looking good. Hope to have it running in a month or so. It takes awhile since I only work on it about 3 hours a week at the most.

The engine is done. There were some differences when using a LML short block and LBZ accessories. The coolant bypass tube and fan hub had to be modified to fit with the LML front cover. The oil pressure sensor is also a different size thread so I have to get an adapter to install my sensor. The plan is to have it in and running next weekend.

I hope you put some serious power to this thing, maybe next year, I am curious how well it holds. I have heard of someone using lml pistons in a build but not sure how much power (heard 700-800) but who really knows

I have a customer running a brand new 100% stock LML bottom end with head studs, aftermarket valve springs, and an otherwise stock LLY top end. It will hit the Dyno this Saturday. Should be a good runner. Has dual CP3's and a GT4088R. He has put a pretty good amount of miles on it breaking it in with no issues so far. From what I have been told it carries very good oil pressure also. It will be interesting to see how it holds up this summer.

This may have been covered already but is everything pretty much the same as the LBZ or LMM other than the pistons? It would be nice to just find an LML block and install rods and headstuds for a street-strip truck. Or are the rods different also?
