Found this LLY Harness with ECU and other components for what I would say is reasonable considering what they want for just an ECU...

So just happened upon an engine/tranny out of a Kodiak. 2005 complete wiring harness, ecm, looks like the FICeM is still there. Misc other parts with it for $2500. Should I pick this up for research? Says the truck was rear ended but the front is fine.

If you can swing the funds I'd say so. The "FICem" 🤣 alone can fetch $2k or more if you decide to sell it later. Then you have the engine, transmission, etc that can be sold too if you want

Agreed. And the ECU is the same way. Averaging around $500. If you ever need an engine harness. I see them from 600-800 right now. I think you nearly have $2500 in electronic components.

Ok so what are we missing here?

Someone please count these pulses and compare to our previous LLY capture, just to be certain.
EDIT: And just for reference, the high points "teeth" on the reluctor wheel would be shown on the 0 line in the captures. For those counting :)

I'm not near as good with a snapon scope as @1FastBrick, so my attempts to capture a control wire signal were spotty at best. Never could seem to get it setup and scaled correctly using the stylus. But from what I saw, it looks the same as LLY. Will keep looking through the captures for a decent example.

What you mean your not as good as me??? I didn't even know what scale to use to capture the right data. You had to tell me what to capture...:ROFLMAO:

Ok why the heck are my control wire captures upsidedown then? According to all my captures, the control wire has a constant 5v and the cuts out to zero when firing injector. Opposite of the LLY.

Now according to my scale, was set at 2v, so take nothing as reliable. I'll get that medium duty harness powered up and capture some on my desk scope. Which comes with a keyboard and mouse... lol.

Oh and my Verus Edge has USB port's so I just added a mouse and a keyboard... :ROFLMAO:
Actually They have a docking station I should be using which has additional ports and a hook up for a screen...

I have the cart for it but it's still wrapped up. I just don't have room for it though at the moment.

Unless I found some way to reverse polarity on the probes, think I may have found our difference.

Sure looks like they reversed the voltage on the controls wires. Can't imagine it, but according to this view, it's bacards...

Hmm, I wonder if a low-level OS mod could invert the injector control lines? The LLY ECM always looked pretty similar internally to the LB7 to me, but they might have different output stage hardware. But I could also see it being a software change, like GM moving the pins around on the van vs the truck.

Is what I see so far. Exact opposite of LLY. Kinda throws a wrench in the modify a single signal wire idea...

Just confirmed the crank signal does the same. But since we don't have a key-off to cranking save from the LLY, I can't be certain if those part are the same. But here is example.

FICM Pin 94 Key Off zero volts, to key on.

Ya know when ya think about it, not that hard to conceive what the developers were thinking laying out the LB7 OS. Last thing that same piece of GM hardware was firing was an 8cyl gasser.. And coils fire just like the control wire scope captures above. Dwell time is power on to charge coils, and it fires when ya cut the power. Humm...

Would be nice if we could find just 8 bits in the LLY OS, that when changed from 1 to 0, reversed that firing structure wouldn't it.. But I'm certainly with ya on the OS mod train of thought.
