Got away for a few days to do some Red Snapper fishing. We smashed them:thumb:. A few pics.
They say the same thing with the codfish up here, yet the guys haddock fishing have a hard time staying away from themBut NMFS says the red snapper are endangered and not out there.
Fun times. Gulf was almost dead smooth. We marked some BFT on the fish finder, down around 500 feet, 2000 feet total depth. I tired several live baits and jigs, couldn't get them to bite. Very disappointed to mark nice fish, and not catch them.

I wouldn't trust nmfs or noaa to count the fish in my aquariums
What machine and ducer combo you using? Nice catch...
Same thing with black sea bass and gag grouper here. Seems there are more of them than ever but not according to nmf. Now they are about to change flounder regs again and require logg books for charters, they have to logg every fish encounter and count their bait fish. How stupid is that...
Where were you looks like a good haul. We have been trout fishing. Haven't been offshore yet. Looking to get the snapper this weekend though
