Not this weekend but the past I got some time to do alittle work on the frame and driveline. Due to the lack of time and sleep we only got the frame covered with primer after the hotsy gave it a 2 hour bath. Yes it is two colors and wally world didn't have the brown we wanted, oh well. We also got the front and rear differentials out and the lockers installed. Really easy to do the front diff with no motor/cab while on the lift. I am planning on using Bobcat charcol enamel on the frame instead of a undercoating material. After debating on what to use I just couldn't see doing a "under coating" material on a vehicle that will never see harsh weather conditions. It will also be easier to shoot with a gun rather than using a bomb can, also it will look better I think. The only reason I am using this Bobcat paint is I can get it at work dirt cheap and the color isn't all that bad either.

At this point the next step is to paint the frame and once the pistons come back we will start the motor assembly. When I fiqure out what I am doing for a transmission we will build that and get both installed. Slowly but shurly(If that is a word) we will get this done.

Here are a few pictures of the progress.

The pistons are being cut but no coating. Since the truck will only participate in pulling maybe half this season, we are planning on pulling the pistons back out to determine if forged pistons are needed. Really, what I mean to say is I hope stock cut pistons hold up until I can afford Forged.

My cut stockers seem to be holding up very well so far. Plasma EGTs. Water system will gone on directly. I am hoping to get thru this season than change to forged pistons from GMS.

So you are running water on your truck? If so, mind me asking what pressure you are spraying at?

No water yet. Working on parts for homemade set up. Should be adjustable form 500 to 1500psi. Not sure if the pump will be able to supply 1500 though. Time will tell.

Let me know if you would like some information on the pump I want to run. It will handle north of 1200psi and I cannot remember the GPH right now but it was up there. I can look it up at work tomorrow though. It is a electric pump and resonably priced, but in my opinion I am not against running a belt driven pump however that could be shot down by the builder.

What kind of pump can push that psi? How adjustable is it? How much does it cost? My pump is getting weak and I need to upgrade. Not quite that high but I want to go higher than 250psi.

How much the pump puts out is directly related to how well it will roll down the track. You should know better :D

The pump is used in water cutting/high pressure water misting. The pump
I was looking at is not for little kids, it pushes some serious water and does it quickly. I am not sure how it would work with your kit as we were going to build the entire system around the pump. I will post up the info tomm. when I get it.

Cut stockers are holding up to my antics .

That frame sure doenst look very strong .

You going to reinforce it anywhere .

The frame will have a "cross member" in the rear but it will be integrated with the hitch. If that doesn't make the truck any stronger then any truck on this website that the frame structure is left untouch would have weak frames. We will beef it up where the rules allow but the thought of it being too weak never crossed my mind.

I will have to ask him. Thanks Henry.

The pump I was looking at may not work, I wouldn't know until I tired it so I don't want you all thinking I found some super secret pump that would work well. The pump is something anyone could buy from any irrigation place or a industrial motor/pump outlet. The price was around $500 and that is with a discount using my works buying power but I have a feeling it can be had elsewhere cheaper.

LOL hell with adding supports, I was looking at what I can cut out and replace with smaller and lighter tubing :spit:

Weight saving is not needed on this truck for some reason. With all the weights(900 lbs) plus a 200 lb weight rack along with a 100 lb hitch the truck weighed 7800 lbs or so IIRC(who knows if the scale is right). We will do weight transfer mods I am sure, no diet here though :D
