Current situation, as some may have herd.
Big tune was.. well..., a big tune! Pulled the front tires up at around 100' 500' and 1000' while giving Rob in the next lane a show. Something let go when it came down the last time and sent me into the wall, then onto and up over it the second hit.

Man that is a crying shame, glad you are okay.

Car ended up on fire, both interior and exterior. Luckily the fire system worked, I had a single nozzle inside and two nozzles on the motor (one near each manifold). Tried to open the drivers door but it was pinned shut, I had to punch out the lexan window and exit through it. I was wearing a Simpson Hybrid Sport head and neck device, and remember thinking "Holy shit, my head hardly moved" once I came to a stop. Back when I was racing sprint cars we only had the foam neck doughnuts. I had wrecked, rolled and been on fire in it, and wish these devices were around and affordable back then. My body would most likely have less long term damage than I have because of the old wrecks.

Looks like you were lucky, sorry about the car, it's a shame. Any idea what broke causing the wreck?
I'm thinking it took out the radiator mounted in the front. May have even started to take it out the first time it came down as I've seen pics with steam or something in the front passenger area. At first I thought the intercooler line popped off, but that's all still good.

I don't know anything at all about 4 links. But I would love to hear a more detailed explanation of what you mean here.....

I'm glad to hear your ok. Looks like a gnarly wreck.

With all the front end weight, the four link was set so it would transfer the weight to the rear as fast as possible, to stick the tire at the starting line. The smaller tunes were fine set the way I had it. I had never ran the big tune 1/4mi, but had made a few 1/8 mi no prep and street passes without issue. On a sticky track and 1/4 mi, the four link wanted to transfer weight any time I went WOT. Rob's own words were something like "I've never seen a car or truck pull away from me like that, come back along side, and pull away again so easy". It would literally pull away, the front would come up and I'd have to lift. I'd get side by side with Rob and repeat.

Man. That thing was motivating! glad you are ok and can move on to the next venture.

Any idea if the engine is ok? Assuming it was shut off when you pulled the fire pin?

Man I don't know Russ, might want to reconsider rebuilding that car, that's the second time in 2 years it has come loose and smacked the wall. Bad Juju. Might consider concentrating on the Pro-mod.
