I recently purchased a donor chassis with an LB7 and a manual tranny. I've decided to put the engine and transmission into my crew cab Chevy. As soon as I figure out how to post pics, I'll show my progress. So far, I've got the engine out of the donor truck, shipped off the wiring harness to get it switched up for stand alone use. I've also swapped the "stock" transfer case with a NP 205, so I can keep my passenger drop Dana 60. Right now the engine is setting in the truck.....not bolted in, still having trouble with motor mounts/cab clearance.

Here are some more pictures. This is truck that's getting the engine and transmission.

If anyone has any pointers on this, I'd appreciate it! Especially on motor mounts!

where'd you get the adapter for the 205?

Make two sets of the engine mounts when you get it figured out. I'll buy the others. :D

Looking good!

The adapter came from Advance Adapters. With it I also bought a new input shaft to fit the splines from the ZF. And when I figure out the motor mounts, there will be very detailed pictures. May have to cut the body on this one too for clearance, as of now, I'm refusing to use a body lift.

Made a lot of headway last night, finally figured out the motor mount setup, I'll finish bolting it in tonight and take pictures of it before the crossmember goes in. SmokeShow, when I get it all together tonight and double check clearances, I'll get ahold of you with total details!

Engine had to come back out, still dealing with clearance issues. Had cut a 4x4 hole in firewall to accommodate for down pipe, ended up cutting entire cab lip off also. Another thing I did for clearance was taking off the heat shields and then grinding those tabs off that they bolt to. Waiting for drivers side exhaust manifold off an LML engine before I grind on that side and before I put the engine back in. Hoping manifold comes in today for I am anxious to try to put the engine in again. Does anyone know how to put multiple pictures in a post using an iPhone?

I have an 84' Short bed sitting in Idaho and a LLY sitting in the garage in Alaska... Need to get them mated together. Keep up the pics:thumb:

Progress recently has been a lot, although it feels like I haven't done anything. Installed new flywheel and clutch, waiting on slave cylinder now. Installed lml exhaust manifold and I've modified the mounts for what is hopefully the last time. Since my last post I've also received a fass 150 for fuel supply, and a set of Dakota digital gauges for the truck. Still waiting on wiring harness and hopefully I'll get to where I need it at about the time I'm done with everything else.
