Well Kat if it means anything, when I lived on Vancouver Island 20F felt like -20F on the praries because of the humidity so there is something to be said for your 50F feeling cold!!

Putting logs in the woodstove yes. I was just speculating on the other through assumption. You see all sorts of stuff on the internet, but I ain't never seen that so I figured it was a bad thing.
