we have all heard it a million times. I heard it again the other night.
a guy at the local truck pull told me he had a 94 heavy duty half ton chevy that was special ordered, and that the only thing half ton about it was the badges. it had the "heavier frame and axles". and that basically it was a 3/4 ton. between that and just people just not knowing anything about what there trying to tell you.
when I bought my 93 6.5 turbo diesel 2500. the guy told me it was a one ton, based on the fact he had to press out the wheel studs to put new rotors on. and only the one tons were like that.
I don't know how many times ive heard of some special ordered original owner this or that. I find it funny though. I know theres stuff like this but not as much as I hear it. I did have a 89 f-250 dually. I don't know what the deal with it was but im sure the original owner wanted a dually f-250 and went to the dealer and special ordered it like that.
my 01 duramax has semi axles, and a army tank torsion bars. and it has a high out put engine that is very rare, the only one ive seen I might add. and its the same frame as the Kodiak-they just shortened it down. actually I think the high out put engine is out of a Kodiak.
it has the heavier steering and shocks that came in the one tons.
it has the same transmission as the space station.
I was just wondering if im the only one who hears this kind of stuff or if its just something in the water around here. feel free to share. I would love to hear some stories.
