any thoughts on where to install the sensor ??
Ya don't run it!!!!
any thoughts on where to install the sensor ??
seriously Simon ???? i bought it so I wouldnt have to keep an eye on temp and manually turn pump on all the time
Tim I got mine at summit , ordered it on wed night
sorry about the pm Simon , i had not seen your reply here .
most of my concern wasnt on turning it off but more of not having to watch temps and turning it on manually . this isnt my dd anymore but I do drive it on the street 99% of the time , having it auto would be a no brainer for me lol
bump for an update...
How is this running on the daily drivers...I DD and tow daily with mine...but am tired of OEM water pump replacements...before I finish the build on the new motor I'd like to rig this up...anymore install pictures out there...would like to see what everyone has done and pick which would be the easiest for me...
Thanks,
Pepp
I have a complete electric water pump kit for the d max.
little help PLEASE... the line that comes down from the thermostat housing to the pump, how do you remove it from the thermostat housing????? i have a LLY O5, I CANT remove the pump due to the line being in the way of the removal of the pump..i just cant figure it out....I gutted the stock water pump by pulling the gear and impellar off and the shaft then welded the hole shut where the shaft went thru that was my new plate
there is a line that comes down from the Tstat housing to the water pump I welded that shut also and then tapped the housing and ran a hose down to my lower rad hose...... Not sure if that was needed but I wanted that line pre pump not post
there are a couple pics in the water pump dangers thead that may help and I should of moved into this one
can anyone post a basic drawing on the best way to route the hoses and the best route to use for a bypass?
we've already made a blocker plate for the tube that comes up off of the water pump and freeze plugged the pump...
someone asked earlier about using the thermostat switch to control the pump and where to mount it, but the only answer he got was don't use it and have it key on all the time with a shut off switch...Is this the best way to do it?
or is drilling the thermostats good enough for a bypass?
Thanks,
Pepp
on edit: 1 more question...Can you just run the pump in the trucks stock flow pattern without blocking off the tube that goes up to the thermostat housing?
