You can't just slap nozzles on 8 different CR injectors. I bet they don't even have the same check ball seats in each injector. Get a FULL SET either oem Bosch or flowed exergy. You cannot mix and match each company flows they're sticks differently.

They were extrude nozzles on a full set from GM! No mixing an matching of anyones nozzles Been down hill from there so there are plenty of people that have just put nozzles on with zero problems the balance rates are always awesome till I have one totally shit out on me

I seem to remember Exergy charging $1600 to rebuild injectors with 30% tips, but I might be wrong. Best thing to do is to call them and ask.

That is what I try to tell people the only reason guys go with nozzles only are because they are cheap what 300 or 400$ and you have more fuel... in reality it is better to spend 1500$ on a fully balanced set because each injector is also completely gone through

I'm one of few people on here who's actually built and flowed cr injectors on a bench and people still argue with me. You are right about buying a full set if everybody quit buying just tips and slapping them on there would be a lot less trouble. People also don't realize a balance rate doesn't reflect an individual injectors flow/return flow.

Yes I know that but the truck also idled like a dream, didnt knock funny, power was always smooth an at the time I couldn't afford 1500-2000 bucks for damn injectors, but looks like I'm going t be either a new set or just get it running an selling it I'm tired of it an so is the wife. I'm currently tearing it down so we'll see

it seems like alot of people get away with running extrude hone injectors with nothing else done:confused: i guess its just luck of the draw

If you plan on keeping your truck another 80-100k miles. It'll be cheaper in the long run putting a lbz in it versus the 1-2 sets of injectors in that span. My engine swap is around 3.5-4k(After selling my lb7). I know of another person in which he can choose to chime in I think is only in it 2-3k after selling parts. Might be something to consider vs worrying about injectors. Plus, going from 200k miles to 20k is nice :woott:

So you're gonna half ass it again and sell it to someone? That's pretty awesome. The answer to your problems is simple: buy injectors that have the same output

Yes a matched set is obviously the way to go. I ran extrude hone nozzles for 2 yrs 24k miles around 40 pulls and 40 strip passes with zero issues. I had one injector quite, and after the motor build money was tight so I bought a reman and put it in. Since then I have chased injectors around the motor. The new ones are always balancing good the old ones are the ones going off. What do balance rates tell if it isn't injector flow? Solenoid current would lead to flow so I assume balance rates equal flow. When I stuck a new one in the other injectors in that bank would show different rates. I assume the remans are cleaner and flow more efficiently and the old ones have to increase voltage and pw to keep up. Atleast that is the way it looks. If I can get my set rebuilt with bigger nozzles for 1500 let me know. I don't see remans with bigger nozzles for under 300 a piece and flow matched are more yet.

injectors often flow more as they get older due to wear. Balance rates do not reflect return rates so actually you can have an injector returning tons of fuel because its so out of spec and it'll look just dandy as far as a balance rate. If you stick a single injector in a motor it needs to be the same company as the others or you will get screwyy balance rates overtime. Each company builds their sticks different and they will wear differently over time.
