I hate my trans

I have been having issues again lately, now the trans Flares VERY badly on the 2-3 shift and pretty bad on the 1-2 and 3-4 shift. But when it does it with the 2-3 shift it feels like the trans is going to fall out of the truck. Stuff comes flying out of the cubby, the truck feels like it jumps up in the air. If I let off of it right before it shifts then it is fine, but if i missjudge the timing... BANG!!!!!

I dont know why, it was running perfect yesterday, I reloaded the 01TCM that was in it before, reset the TAPS, and it still does it. I am having a coronary!! HELP!!

i dont know if it does it with the stock tune, but it was working perfectly yesterday, nothing has changed except for the time..... i can try to put the stock tune in it but why would it matter if nothing has changed?

You need a new NSBU or something switch. Merchant has them much more reasonable than your local dealership. Change it ASAP. This happened to my dad's truck.

IDK I would check it again because my dad's did the exact same thing when his when out. But his was a stock trans, but it would bang extremely bad. I can only imagine how bad it would be with an aftermarket trans with better clutches and increased line pressure.:confused:

I would find another duramax and start swapping parts until you narrow it down.

along with the ignition switch, NSBU, and fluid. I just went and bought a spinon, replaced it, thought it was fixed, then BAM started again.

I loaded a new OS to the trans, didnt help. What gets me is that I didnt do anything yesterday, it was fine this morning, then on the way home BAM!!

Sorry to hear Jeff! Mine started with 3-4 and has now moved down to the 1-2, 2-3. Seems alot worse when warm. Feels like it jumps out of gear, revs, and them wham-o!!

Talked to Mike awile back on my 3-4 issue and it sounds like the clutches are shot. Not sure how that effects the other gears but it seems like it has. Since then I have removed the big tune and went with something very mild until I have time to refresh it. I also reset Taps for those shifts and havent had anymore bad shifts since.

Hope you get it figured out!
