This is why my next turbo from Fleece (which is almost done) will have a whole front end from a GT4202 - compressor wheel and housing and all. I don't want something that is machined to fit, I want something that is made and engineered to fit each other.
I wish and hope that Garrett continues to make bigger AVNT chargers and gets away from "stock appearing". I would love to see a variable GT42 straight from Garrett. I am also very interested in how the variable 4094 is going to stack up to the 68 and 71.5mm turbos from Danville and Fleece.
The reason for the "stock appearing" is for the stock classes - otherwise what really defines stock?.... no tuner, exhaust, cold air box, etc.
I agree there needs to be bigger AVNT turbos made,...... just not to say they are stock appearing. I think the limits of that has been reached in the stock housings.
