In my experience, it is kinda hard to keep the caps in at high psi. Pretty scary when they blow off at 50+ psi
Yeah, I know going to a t-4 housed turbo such as a 464 or s366 would net me more hp on the top end, i don't think it would show up well on a dyno, just because of the spool-up factor. My t-3 does wind up pretty fast for most dyno's. Plus, a bigger or upgraded charger that flows more air, is going to add more stress to my "already on the edge" rods. At the track, I know i would see lower egt's and a better trap and e/t, but where I mainly compete on dyno's (read other posts for reasons) I don't think a bigger charger will help in my situation.
A 3" Y bridge is no good unless you have some 3" IC tubes. And those are useless unless you can an intercooler that accepts a 3" tube. The whole intake tract is only as good as your tightest restriction.
Well, I ordered some headers and up pipes to get made today along with an electric fan. I will be porting and polishing my pedistal and prolly throwing on a billet compressor wheel.
If I go 66mm on my compressor, how much does it usually run to machine the housing? I may just stay with the 64.5mm. I don't know, I change my mind every thirty seconds.
I may also be going with a 3" y bridge too. Anyone know if that will be worth it? I'll have my turbo out of the way anyhow.....
Uhhh lb7s have 3'' from the factory? And the factory cooler accepts 3''???
what are you talking about? No they do not have a 3'' Y bridge from the factory, No they do not have 3'' IC tubes. What is the point of upgrading to a 3'' Y bridge if the air is still restricted by the 2.23-2.5'' (whatever it is) IC pipes?
factory LB7 federal (cali emission may be different) intercooler tubes are 3" from intercooler to y-bridge but neck down right at the y-bridge to 2.5". stock LB7 federal y-bridge is 2.5 till your hit the actual y and it really opens up. The turbo to intercooler pipe is 3" but isnt a full 3" all the way through, some bends and such neck down some. the intercooler openings are 3" on each side.
Y'all are right. Come to think of it i was measuring the inside diameter of the rubber IC hose that connects to my reducer out of the charger. It is tiny. The metal is 3'' OD iirc. Still far off from what the ID is of a aftermarket 3'' Y bridge tho

I lied in my previous post, I almost ordered headers, but I cant decide if i want to go cast or log..... Anybody have any suggestions? This is my dd btw.
Yeah, I should just ditch the bd, (shouldn't of gotten it in the first place) but $...... I'd be into it more $ for a t-4 ped, and if I get another single, I'd prolly want a billet S472, not a 366. My bd is still a great option to compound off of, but i won't be doing anything with my turbo(s) unless i build the motor.
