Look at MAF and Duration here... Also take note of the IAT... Its 154 degrees..

B1185 and B1184 are pulling fuel from B1177(Torque Based Fuel)

I'm thinking that all the hours that Tony and others have spent tuning are around a sensor or mechanical issue. 154 degrees is almost to the max of the table values. It does seem to go up and down a bit in the log, but only a few degrees.. If the sensor is damaged it still could fail to a value that is legit in terms of diagnostics, but not conducive to fueling and making power.

Long and short of it. The owner/builder need to get the truck in the tuners hands, whoever that may be and I would bet they find out what is wrong quickly.

Hi All, Ross here, thought I'd better let everyone know about our involvement with this. Without repeating the same story as previous posts, essentially we were asked to look in to why this particular truck was going in to reduced power.

Through some investigation and some internal file modifying and a few shots in the dark we had it to the point where it was not setting DTC's, but, it was still going in to limp mode. It was at that stage I had to say to Tony that I didn't know what direction to take as far as tuning goes...How can an ECM decide to take serious action like reduced power and not set any DTC? To solve the problem we needed a lead to go by, with no DTC to chase, there's no lead.

From our perspective we also asked this question, since the LMM tuning came out there has been numerous trucks built with bigger than normal modifications, as far as we knew all problems that have been encountered with these builds had been solvable with what is in the current tuning release. So it was not really about 'we have better things to do', it was questioning why this particular truck was different to all others before it.

And this gets back to the fact that there was no DTC being set, how can EFILive add tables that some claim to be missing when we don't even know why the ECM was doing what it was doing? So our door is not closed, without a lead we are looking a 'needle in a haystack' type proposition on a single vehicle where many 1,000's have been tuned before it.

Cheers,
Ross

That's exactly why I walked away.......no boost=no codes...........it is what it is.

Come on.. You're a more intelligent person than that.. At least you seemed to be while we were drinking beer gettting Nitrous bottles filled at the challenge.

If this is the truck I'm thinking of, the builder has called everyone in the country.. I talked to him and to me it sounded like (log showed it) was an IAT problem. If the IAT2 is damaged the truck won't fuel. Has anyone actually checked to see if that sensor isn't damaged?

Brayden

I'm not a tunaahh :D if a part goes on my truck and I cant make it work right through tuning, it comes off. If the tuner can't make it work, I trust him, because I'm not smarter than him until I decide to prove him wrong. Sorry, didnt mean any offense by calling your cat stupid in this guys case.

I'm just joking around Dave

And so am I. No worries. I went through hell and back trying to get my truck to run right. I wanted to burn it. So many people tried to tune my truck over the internet and it never worked. Tony was actually my first choice for tuning but when I called him he declined to do it because he hadn't tuned enough LMM"s to feel comfortable to do it. This was 3 years ago mind you. I respected that and figured we didn't need 3 trucks in my class using the same tuner anyways. I think Ross explained things pretty well. Just sucks for the OP when he has all this money into a bad ass truck and it won't run right.

I worked along side Trey on this georgia build, it's not mechanical, I've/we "Trey and I" have spent hours looking for something mechanical. It's not mechanical!!

I was also along side Tony in GEORGIA and yes he came here sat in the seat and live tuned the truck!!! The truck ran fantastic all afternoon, returned the truck to the customer an hour later the famous 0299 underboost code was back!!

Not trying to start a s*** storm but why doesnt someone besides Tony address that there is a problem and get together and solve it instead of this "oh I can fix it send it to me" BS

I guess my post and request are ignored.... good luck everyone. Let's have a shit throwing contest and bash other tuners and never get it fixed instead. Trey, bring us the truck and well fix it.

Plain and simple

Lol...wow what a shitstorm over this.

I'll take care of accommodations... we have about 20 trucks at the shop to turn out by next tuesday because me and Brad are going to nuevo vallarta mexico on Wednesday so there will be no time before then, but the week after.. any time will be fine.

Good points, is this the only log you have? I would be curious if every log taken showing the reduced power issue shows the same high IAT and stupid pw and timing values...

Edit: Just seems too obvious/unlikely that on two different trucks that are setups extremely similar with dozens of logs taken and multiple sets of eyes logging and tuning them, that one or two critical sensors would be to blame. I'm not disagreeing that it may be mechanical, just way to hard to not give those who have spent so much time diagnosing these trucks the benefit of the doubt that they would've not noticed IAT staying nearly maxed out on every log.

Ill say it again....if someone can get me some serious/detailed logs, voltages, temps, conditions, and then put a tick mark exactly where it commands REP on the log, I will look into making something to fix this.

Kinda off topic, sorry. But how do you know when a code sets while watching a log? It would have really helped figure out some past issues.
