Talk to nick about his rods and prices. Much cheeper than 2850. I know of two guys that went from GT4094 to the Cheetah. Maybe Brayden will chime in. You can get most or all of those parts you listed for 9k if you keep looking and asking. Look in the "for sale" section.

i thought you needed 2cp3 to make bigger injectors work well:confused: and I would think at least 3g for a turbo and mounting. If done right machine work will add up very fast! But that depends how much attention to detail you want to take.

No you dont. You need two CP3s to make big turbos work well.

9g do the labor your selfs will get you a bottem end good for ~900hp with head studs and main studs. that includes a turbo depending on what you get.

heads can be done at a later date along with 2cp3

I will say your looking at 15k to 18k once everything is said and done. the phat shaft is not a bolt on part, you will need a different downpipe, pedistal, and seals and gaskets. the cheetah is a direct bolt on part but it us basiclly 3k. who's going to dissesemble your current engine, get it ready for shipping, and finally ship it out? that all cost money. your looking at a minimum of 2k for machine work. then who's going ressemble the engine for you? plus do you have a built transmission yet? 2500$ rods, 1800$ pistons, 3-4k for turbo, 500$ for gaskets and seals, 3k roughly for second cp3, retainers and springs not sure on price. plus a shop taking the engine apart putting it back together could be expensive. oh ya and 600$ for head studs. 9k isn't realistic for parts unless you don't run dual cp3's or an aftermarket turbo but what's the fun it?

ill have a 650-700ish hp truck for under 9-10k that including buying a used block and crank ;) with lots of room to grow at a latter date :D

paying labor will KILL that budget quick and in a hurry

how much for labor?

minus machining, I think he's doing all removal, tear down, rebuild and reinstall of the engine.

Not much more than keying cam and crank (should be less than $500 easily), pistons (Less than $2000) and the cheapest rods (no less than $2500 unless you get lucky) available can be had for much less than $9K IF you are gonna pay someone to do it all. The labor bill for that should be about 40-60 shop hours to pull, tear down, rebuild and reinstall the engine. At $75/hr you see where we're at ($3K to $4500 for labor). That's damn close to the $9k that's been mentioned.

Forget studs, second cp3, turbo, etc. if a shop is gonna do this for you. There's nothing wrong with that, just the cost of things at this point.

what about balancing the engine? BMS quoted me 3500$ for installing new parts and machine work.

6850-7000 using the high sided numbers
good for 800rwhp with stock heads and cam. pending turbo and power adder

other options
fordge piston run as cheap as 1600-1700 bucks
comp cam 650sih/socal diesel custom 1000
gt40 intsall kit is 1400ish.
s400 with a 66-80mm (2.6-3.1" or bigger) inducer can be made for under 1000 bucks down side not water cooled
gt4094 can be gotten new for 1900 some places as cheap as 1700ish

even if i put that gt4094 on (3300) i am just over the 10k with turbo this is not including oil coolant and a few other items. ~6 gallon coolant system at 12 buck for green stuff ot ~20 for dexacool per gallon

going labor cost is anywhere between 50-100bucks and hour. figure there is a solid 20-25 hours to up to 40+ hours in the motor assembley more pending on how good, thorough, and meticulas you are and what is wrong with said block. which can push labor assem cost upward of 5,000 bucks

mind you i have not mention billet mains or girdle iirc they run 1500-2000 between the 2 of them.

how much for labor?

95% of labor will be done by myself. on MY build

afaik labor rate change based on geographical area. out here in cali going labor rate float between 80-100 and hour.

i just had a valve job done one a SBC 16 valves and a steam clean done for 150 buck another 50 buck would include a surface job.

once i got the machinist off his ass he did the job in ~2-2.5 hours.
