ok buddy i run 315's same thing as a 35in. Tire, 37's are only 2in. Bigger there's not much ****ing difference a tire is a goddamn tire. Now he may need gears but i don't see anypoint 3.73 are fine in my book. And since your knocking all the tuning you can use a dsp 5 switch and have dd,towing, racing, smoke, etc and whatever other tunes he may want.
it makes a big difference, check egts with big tires and again with smaller ones. I know, i used to drive around with 3.73s and 315s for 2.5 years. 33s are ideal with 3.73 gears, 35s are ideal with 4.10s or 4.30s and 4.56s with 37s. With the lower gearing, you get more rpms and air through the engine, instead of lugging it with low rpms from big tires and 3.73s especially towing stuff. I am speaking from personal experiences

I'm speaking from personal experience to. I've had 315's on the truck since new in 2006 and have maintained 21-22 mpg with 3.73 gears. My truck runs 1460-1480 rpms while crusing at 55mph with 600-650 EGTs and around 900-1000 EGTs while towing and still roughly getting 13-15mpg if i'm well mannered while towing. Now you want to talk about fuel economy My 2002 in my sig got 31.4mpg unloaded hand cal. on a trip from PA to MI running 75mph also with 600-650 egts and 315's also. Its all in the tuning to get good economy. But I guess I know nothing compaired to everybody I'm just a big dummy and I'll keep my knowledge to my self since everybody wants to knock me:banghead:

These are the comments that people are going to have a field day with.

Nothing against your knowledge but, "a tire is a goddamn tire" is just silly.

talk to Mike L about your convertor. i have heard some good things about the new ones he is selling. and he will make sure you have the best one for your turbo set up.

does anyone have ballpark install estimates on the twins, trans and minor fuel upgrades listed on page 1?

No, I know better, thats why I like a big single! but thats me and my opinion and thats you and your opinion. I've never been a fan of compound turbo's and never will be I like big single's and I always will:thumb:

Well the people who have twin turbos love 'em and wouldn't go back. But good for you....."buddy"....stay ignorant and stick to your guns. Damn right.

Gosh Robby, it's ok. Really. No need for a hissy fit. And you're right.....tires are tires and there's no difference at all between sizes, that's just a stupid misconception some people have. Glad you know better. And hell, 31.4mpg is nothing for one of these trucks....I believe you. Don't you feel better now?

I would just give Nathan a call and ask him these questions. He's a nice guy to talk to and could give the best answers. I do have one of his kits and I can honestly say it is of very high quality. I have installed supercharger kits from Vortech, Paxton, and Ford Racing and they all come in second to the quality of MPI. You get what you pay for and its money well spent with MPI.:coolspot:

A wise man will keep very smart people at his side when needed because none of us knows it all. Nathan is one of my friends and advisors that i keep close. He knows his shit and I depend on his knowledge.:D

def. tranny first, most important.
then like the other guys said:
tie rod sleeves
shim kit
possibly centerlink
clamping your rear springs
you have gauges? def. need an EGT
Twins are great, and Nathan's (MPI) are some damn fine work.

My best piece of advice, like Eric Merchant told me years ago....
"Overbuild it, don't underbuild" that is so true in the tranny aspect and the twins as well.
I'm on my second set of twins and already wanting a bigger set, this stuff is so darned addicting.
Best of luck.

Still holds true to this day :thumb:
