Sarted Diagnosing my 2001 gmc this weekend , so fare the motor was hydro locked and after pulling the glow plugs out it blew the water out when i turned it over , and the truck now turns over freely . The truck is getting torn down today to start the repair. Paying my buddie Dimitri to do alot of the work because i have been so busy lately  I will keep you guys posted on what we find when we get the heads off , I am curious to see what else we will find . So far i am really happy that the short blocks seems to be good , but wont know untill we visually look inside and check piston protrusion and a few pother things .

Still couldnt get it to fire up though and at this point i dont have an answer to why , it had fuel pressure cranking maybe too much like stuck reg or injector ( got up to 6000 psi ) so hopefully there is not more damage that we cant see . didnt do a compression check just wanted to get started and not wasting time messing with it .

Trent I would do that compression test before I took it apart. You will find the cylinder and maybe enough info that you don't have to take it apart. If the comp is down too low that would be why it wouldn't crank. Hope it ok for you and nothing major.

I know the head gaskets are bad , with out a doubt . So it needs to be tore down anyway . it would crank over after i pulled the glow plugs , after all the water came out anyway :D , just not fire . didnt spend enough time to try and diag because it would be wasted because i already verified enough for it to have to be tore down .

Justify it however you need to. Next thing you know, there'll be a post about how you have some new twins coming for your race truck, and since the twins are already on the DD, there's no sense in pulling them off...
