Here's the new thread not to derail from my for sale thread.
The truck is a 2004 4.3/4L60 2wd 1500
Full tank of fuel and me in it, it's 4260lbs. :roflmao:
Bought it for 2500$ and has 213k miles. Transmission fluid looks like duramax tcase fluid :roflmao:
Work truck interior, but power locks. has some Walmart special radio deck.
Goal is to go 9.99 with it.
I will be swapping a 2009 LY6 6.0 square port head (LS3 style) engine into it.
I will also be building the motor and stroking it out to 408CI 6.7L all forged rotating assembly.
Air will come from the twin S369SXE's I originally bought for the Duramax.
On the truck LS motors you can flip the manifolds to make it easier for turbos, or buy CTS-V manifolds. I plan on running between 15-20psi.
Fuel will come from 125lb/hr FIC injectors, and an Aeromotive fuel pump, it will run on straight E85.
Transmission will be a manual valvebody 4L80 by Mike L or Jakes, with a 3400 stall Pro Yank converter.
Caltracs, QA1's and some very big drag radials will be out back, some skinny's up front.
Will end up putting a 6 point cage in the truck at a later time for safety reasons.
I need about 750-800rwhp to run 10.0's at 4600lbs.
I cant wait to start this project and see what this little half ton can do.
Now I have to figure out WTF a spark plug is, how it works, and why I can rotate this engine over by hand
