If I were to bring my truck in for non drive train warranty work such as a non-working steering wheel control, steering rattle, blown speaker, etc and some service manager tried to deny me warranty or warranty blocked my truck just because I have an exhaust and gauges installed I think I would be on the evening news.

If I pop a motor or HG it's my fault, but non-related warranty claims should not be denied.

;)

I was waiting for you tough guy to get involved! :D

Now I hate to sound negative as I love this sport just as much as everyone else does,I just like the discussion.

Heres my thought on that tough guy. If there isn't already a policy in place mark my words on this date there will be a policy that a Service Department will be able to REFUSE to honor a warranty and or perform warranty work NO matter what it is UNLESS all federal mandated emission devices are installed on your vehicle REGARDLESS of what warranty repair needs to be done!

I'll bet the farm on it. Refusal can be as simple as the vehicle is NOT legal to be driven on city/state roads!

Wanna bet bitch? :D

My truck was ~$50k new, It was in the 12s before I had 10k miles on it :thumb:

If I bought another truck today, Id mod it. I could give a shit about a warranty really. All the BS anyway to get warranty work done on a non modded truck. I couldnt deal with a competent dealer to get a window switch replaced on my truck within 100 miles of here. Good techs/dealers are far and few. I love modding my truck, I have fun with it. Im not the kind of guy that likes a point A to point B car/truck. Id never wait for a warranty to expire, I could be gone tomorrow and never enjoyed what I could have waiting on a warranty to expire. My truck is my toy/hobby. Others are the same way.

I am all for you gotta pay to play. Right now my water pump is bad. Should the dealer fix it on a modded truck being its common? yes. Am I going to bitch when they told me they wont because all the mods on my truck? no. It is what it is. I knew this long ago before I even bought 1 part for my truck.

There are plenty of people out there just like me, that want to enjoy and customize their ride. Its going to happen. It has happened ever since cars were being built.

There is and always will be a market for aftermarket parts, whether it voids a powertrain warranty or an entire warranty.

thank you mmlmm, just because they promise a free lunch even in writing doesn't mean it will be honored. There is always a back door to any contract to not honor your word/promise.

too many go around being irresponsible douches looking for a free lunch and for someone else to fit the bill when they screw up or are not careful, that they miss out on the urgency of the now in enjoying life and being alive.

yeah i'm on the road 120+hrs a week and cant afford a half days worth of down time, but does that mean i walk on eggshells and leave my truck stock, f**k NO. If my life was all about fear and irresponsible self guilt, i might as well forget about having any semblance of enjoyment or fullfillment in my life.

mmlmm for prez :patriotic2:

Kansas when I am home
They have warrantied the crap out of our LB7, 5 sets of injectors and a rear end rebuild one outer seal and one inner seals. But they will not touch my LBZ, the truck is very well known around my town as pretty modded (by my small town standards, nothing like most of you guys) I guess it the dealer got wind of the LBZ mods???

I am totally with Mike on this one, My truck stickered at 48k new (I got a way better deal than) and I had that girl moded within the first few miles I got to drive it. I don't expect the dealer to stand behind a truck that is not stock. My thing is conformity, all dealers need to have a guideline to follow and stick to it.

It pisses me off when I hear someone is getting jacked around on injectors and GM has never batted an eye at all 5 sets for us. And then like when my truck can't get it's tranny lines fixed and I hear someone with a more heavily modded truck than mine gets theres fixed. I love GM actually I love Detroit in general FORD GM Dodge all are amazing and putting out some amazing things here the past few years. I'm awaiting the day they take pride in there products and stand behind them the way they should
