got the bed back on finally...

With those front wheels laying in at the top like that, does it play havoc on how they wear on the inside treads??? I've always seen that on some lowered vehicles and never understood it if it does, in deed, wear the tires faster on the inner treads.

yea they do wear more on the inside but when i'm at ride height they are pretty flat. there are tires made by nitto that are designed for negative camber vehicles. i don't have em, but they make em.
i just got all the steel to frame the bed out this weekend so hopefully i can get down there this week if it's warm enough and start on it.

Usually for bagged vehicles you align the vehicle at ride height so the camber isnt an issue. Just depends on how low you wanna be rollin though

ride height is about 2", once i put shocks in the front it'll be perfect. so just a little higher than this..
started framing the bed out this weekend but ran out of tubing, i bought a 25' stick of 1x1 from the steel yard for $15 bucks, Home Depot wanted $20 for a 6' section, so i'll wait till next weekend till i can get to the yard again. sorry had to vent

Why do you have to frame over the bed? Is the top of the 1x steel (elevation the level is sitting on in the pictures) the support for the new bed bottom? and the original gets cut out?

I think thats what he had in mind. Done to hide all the cutouts and framework from the notch job.

Yep thats what he is going to do.
ha yea guess i should've explained that. yea the top of the 1x is going to be the new bed floor. i am going to make the rear most section removeable so i can get to the valves and shit too, it will angle down from the last 1x3 to where the tailgate meets the bedfloor. the total depth of the bed will be about a foot and a half, i was going to leave the center open but i still use my truck and i don't need a deer or my fishing poles falling though the center lol. also this is only temporary, i have another bed that i'm also going to be building that i will be putting Quadrasteer bed sides on, that will go on when i body drop the truck.
