Well it sounds like a big screw you then Jordan.

Its a discussion site, people talk. The fenders are integral to a swap - trust me Ive done all kinds of front end swaps.

"Normal" is not taking a body saw to stuff.

Allow me to apologize for other people trying to help.

**edit** Little harsh I guess, sorry jordan, but it really seems as if people were just trying to help out. You do some trick custom stuff, so get on it, cuz I for one wanna see how it looks!

wow this thread took a left turn. jordan i have seen people put a gmc bumper on a chevy. matter of fact i almost did it on mine bc i too hate the chevy bumper. the biggest down side is the gap/contour differences that will be at the corners of the grille and bumper. the other thing that you will need to look at is the corners of the bumper coming in contact w/ the fender flares. only reason i bring that up is b/c i'm sure you'll want as little gap as possible all the way around the bumper and moving it up that high might cause an issue..

I think on your truck you would have much better luck and less work than someone who wanted to keep a factory grill. Add a few extra billet bars at the bottom cut to the contour of the GMC bumper and I think you are in business.

Ok I didnt read al because there was some drama I started reading...

Anyway.

To just swap the bumpers, short answer no. Long answer, you have to adjust the mounts on the GMC bumper to get it to even bolt up.

now, once you do that it will look like ass. (trust me Jordan, you will want to fully convert it after you get the bumper to fit, lol) there will be a huge gap at the top of bumper. to do this right you need:
bumper
fenders
hood
grill
headlights
(yes the whole clip)
Also I want to say we used the radiator support from the GMC too.

Reno, my buddy started this project with the same intent, just the bumper, a few hours later we were back at the junk yard picking up the rest of the front end.

I have a few pics but there not digital....
