I'd love to find someone close to swap me front clips..i wanted a chev to start with. When you buy a used truck you gotta get the options you want not the wrapper sometimes..lol

first off, the fenders are NOT the same. not at all. yes the same flares will fit cause that part is the same, but when it gets close to the headlights, thats where they are totally different at.

the gmc curves up and over the headlights, where as the silverado does not

im pretty sure the frames are the same, but i might be mistaken, i have dealt with a close friend for the last several years who specializes in late model gm salvage/rebuilds. mostly f bods, full size gm trucks and gtos.

I think for the purposes of this discussion, the fenders are the same (meaning the bottom of the fender where it meets the bumper).

ah ok, well the only thing that really looks different with the chevy bumper to gmc is that the bumper on the gmc seems to drop more where the grille is at

My bad on the fenders. The 01-02 Chevy/01-07 GMC are the same. The 03-07 Chevy have a different fender to hood design, but the lower portions still have the same layout.

Sounds good to me make it happen, frame horns are the same I would bet GM is the king of building parts bin trucks if they can make the same part work on all there trucks they will do it.

What more do you want? We told you what we thought would work, how we thought it would fit, and the possible setbacks you may encounter. The rest is completely up to you to go do. Cant help you there.

People are talking about fenders and stuff. I just wanted to know if it's been done or if someone tried and it didn't work. I don't need help on how to do it just if someone knows for sure it can't work. I'll see if I can pick one up tomorrow :D

I've seen the Denali bumpers installed, and IIRC they had to space them up to fit correctly.

I dont think anyone has ever done this type swap before, Jordan, so looks like you're the guinea pig. If one of your buddies has a GMC, I'd just ask to "borrow" his bumper for a day to see what the fit would be like before wasting your money on buying one.

That's because "fenders and stuff" meet up with the bumper, and the differences and similarities between the chevy/gmc versions are relevant if you want it to look right.

I know this won't be a straight bolt on guys. I said I have body saws and all that. Fenders will get cut if need be, so like I said they don't matter

While your at it, make it flush mount (Even with fenders/grill) and replace the plastic with fiberglass;). I've thought about trying this out with a Chevy bumper. If you get it figured out with the GM bumper, I'll buy your Chevy bumper:cool:...

The trucks are built on the same line, The frames are the same,All other stuff is in a parts kit matched to a build number as it comes down the line most of the time you will build 3 chevys and my be 4 GMC, Or 10 of one then 1 of the other.

I just asked a simple question. I don't care about the fenders and nobody answered my question anyway. That's why i said screw it I'll just let you guys know if it's possible or not
