I think the line may have been kinked, it would be easy to leave it too long. A 90* NPT to parker fitting instead of a 45* may help.

has anybody thought of maybe just maybe if said truck had a damn nasty air filter , that said truck with big ass turbo might just pull air from somewhere else! Maybe suck in the seals to a point of a leak? Just saying ??? have heard of it before:cool2:

i don't think trents kit is the blame at all on the drain theory, my mechanical mind tells me it would backup way faster feeding into the pan , than said valve cover. Oh and by the way, imo there is noway to fill the valve cover so much it backs up in the turbo .:thumb:

Read the post. I never said the valvecover filled with oil.

Wow! I just read this thread. A lot of nay sayers in here. First off trents kit and support are awesome so that is definitely not the case. My air filter was not plugged it was brand new so that's not the issue. There is no gunk in my heads, my motor was pulled for building purpose and ran fine and would handle more abuse. I was simply talking to Jordan and throwing ideas around. There IS positive pressure in the valve cover under high load which IS causing oil to push out the seals. I pulled my trailer 700 miles and at times was pushing 65psi and ran 3 passes at the strip. Normal or hot rodding around town wouldnt do it. Just under serious pressure for a long period. There is no lines kinked I'm not stupid nor do I rig shit together. My motor was solid and was 410psi on compression before I pulled it at 180k miles. This is stupid people are saying no no no it can't be. Well if you would make the jaunt to Alaska I will be happy to throw the set on another truck and show you. Also there is a rib on that lower valve cover that will break off and sit in the head. You have to pull the cover off anyways to make sure it didnt fall in there.

Reece I never said i didnt believe you it was leaking , nor that there was not pressure in the crank case during use , simply that to say it is from the drain location when by all rights the upper pan is part of the same pressurized system does not add up to me , it could be bad seals on the turbo for all we know , I would be more than happy to send the turbo through the shop and have it checked out , I currently am running the drain on my tow rig the same way , have towed over 1k since I changed it from the traditional way , and its had plenty of beatings too , my dads truck also both with out problems along with several local customers , that doesn't mean its not possible still just you would expect all 3 trucks to show the same issue's if it was simply from the drain location. Like i said above , I provide the stuff for either way , and its up to the customer to choose if they want to try it in the name of saving a lot of time during install.

Reece I have mine draining back into the valve cover and the only time I have seen higher oil pressure is when it is cold.I have towed with it pretty hard and haven"t seen any difference.

There are lots of things I can think of. It was probably caused by blow by. At higher rpm's the oil pressure is at its highest and the full boost helped contribute to blow by in the cylinder too. It just took the lesser of restriction in the system. Those bearing's in the turbo will seep at 60 psi and higher, oil pressure. The valve covers share the same cavity as the sump. If fluid is covering a hole anywhere in this cavity, (no matter were it go's) the crankcase pressure will push the oil out no matter what, if the restriction present is less than the cavity pressure.

At 185,000 miles on the rings, 410 PSI cylinder pressure, 65+ PSI boost and 60+ psi oil pressure at higher rpm's, tells me it is very likely this can happen with all parts being in excellent operating condition. Just nature of this setup. Maybe a check valve is in order just like the PCV line...:D

 the ring doesnt effect the truck department much. its either a house or built motor. im goin house as its one of the best ideas right now lol. If you get your ass down to phoenix this weekend (assuming everything shows up) you can help hopper and i put it together, even if your just the beer biotch

Jordan I know your not trying to bash anything , but if i tell you "hey Jordan my Buddy drank a Budweiser and after he was done his ears started bleeding" and then said " I dont think you should drink one either because your ears will bleed too "

you being a paramedic ( just as i am a mechanic in this scenario ) you are going to say , I dont think its the Bud Trent , though not impossible , I want to find out why before I turn down a cold one or start telling others not to .

I provide the supplies in the kit to use either , and don't really care which they choose but i believe both to be viable options.

Hmmm... I would be willing to test this Budweiser theory...... only if you supply it though. :D
