srsly this thread hijack has to end.

We know that the fords can hold 600ish hp with a stock trans, but how long does that last?

No I can't explain any further without teaching everyone how to build a better converter which I won't do.
The 6 speed converter is weaker to begin with and cannot be built as strong as the 5 speed converter. Since there are so many 6 sp converters laying around, builders need to use them up to recover costs. We will start seeing them now. They will not hold big power.

So what converter do I need to be looking for in order to do an LMM built trans. Stock trans. Is the McRat converter the best or what is the new best? 1057?
I am want something that I could tow with but overall I am going to be truck pulling an drag racing. I am wanting a reliable 600hp+ daily driver 11.99 1/4. Pretty much what Tom Bacon has done with his truck plus some. Stock turbo, stock injectors etc. That's the goal anyway.

600+ with stock turbo and injectors will be hard to do. If you do get it, it wont be reliable.

So, 12.9 is the fastest Dmax to EVER go down the strip with all stock factory parts EXCEPT tuner, exhaust and intake?? I thought there were faster:mad:

Thanks for the nice compliment, but I think a more realistic goal is 550rwhp and 12.30s out of a stock turbo/injector truck. I think Ive pushed as far as I can.....guys far more intelligent than I told me it would be tough/near impossible to get to 600rwhp on stock turbo, and i suspect they may have been right. See below for why.....

I would tend to agree the above. Getting that last 30hp has been trying, and to get there a person wont have ANY stock top-end parts except the turbo and injectors. As for reliablility, I think the truck would still be a very reliable DD, the question really should be, 'How long?"

There may be others out there that have run 12.8 or 12.7, but they probably only did it once or twice before the trans went poof, or are people that havent been "advertised" online. It would take the same amount of research that Trent and Matt have put into their combinations to do it reliably and not wipe the trans out.

TX of course
There are several guys that have claimed up to a 12.6 on a "stock" trans. I heard 05smoker tunned a RCLB LLM and it went 12.4.

I don't think any stock turbo would last very long pushing it hard enough to make 600hp on stock injectors without some juice added in. My next question is why would you even want to try it? In the long run you would be money and time ahead to save your money and do it right.

I guess that would be possible for a RC/LB that weights close to 6,000lbs

Um try closer to 6500+.

Abby weighs 5800 now after cutting and hacking and removing a TON of stuff from under the hood, suspension and at the back. I bet we removed no less than 500lbs.
