Who has gone the fastest on fuel only with all the stock parts EXCEPT tune, exhaust and intake?

A video would be great too.

Could you add year of truck also. I noticed on the time slip page, the LB7s are smoking out the llys, lbzs, and lmms...

Doesn't help when Im trying to go after a particular LB7 down in Katy,Tx...

In a True tune application LBZ's and LMM's destroy LB7's and LLY's.

I think the bigger question would be how long did it last.

There is a difference between running an ET as a best, and what is survivable.

Bonzai runs are great, but so far I haven't seen any Dmaxes regardless of year survive very long in the 13's on a stock trans. The LBZ/LMM's will do the best by a good margin, but seldom make it to 50 passes.

I know the Allisons wont last long with that much power but im tired of hearing how bad azz the 6.4L are with stock trans, turbos and injectors. I want to know which one is faster out of the box with a tune, exhaust and intake only.

The 6.4 doesn't survive either from what I gather. The Ford does have a LOT of potential, but currently it is no real threat IMO.

It does make me wonder if GM will tighten up the Allison again on the 2010 though. Give us a "sport mode" like the cars. The 6L90? deals with 550HP (but only 500ftlb) and gets a sport mode.

my trans owes me nothing. after years of abuse with a predator, ppe hot+2, efi live, twins, gt40, it still gets me to and from work, just seems slower at the track i could not break out of the 14's for the life of me... hopefully i'll have her built in the next couple weeks and see how much time i was losing through my poor burnt up ally :D

The only real advantage the new ford has is the tranny in stock form, that's it. When you really get into some hp none will last. The tranny in the ford don't have a valve body. It works by a series of silinodes.

I dont get the argument anyways, if you wanna play, you gotta pay, i dont see what your gaining by beating on your stock tranny for a few months instead of a few passes, the price of the tranny doesnt get any cheaper in a few months, you just ruin parts and get clutch debris in the lines that risk getting into your new built tranny. Imo ford has no advantage unless you plan on running 13s forever and trade your truck every 3 months.

Dont let those Ford guys fool you....their transmissions may be able to handle higher Tq for longer than the Allison can, but they still have to eventually build their transmissions too.

Its all the same in the diesel racing game.

so to sum it all up, the fastest stock turbo, engine, and trans dmax must be the step child

Allison with Transgo Jr is still stock. All the trim valves do is divert an extra 120 psi to the C3 and C4 clutches; nothing more and nothing less.
