Basically, the biggest concern is that they actually test nozzles. Everyone "says" they do, but I open a box and find the injectors filled with extrude-hone fluid, and I know they lied about it.

Your engine can be turned up just so far before it breaks. The "weak link" cylinder will fail first. Some extrude honed injectors are over 20% different from nozzle to nozzle, so basically you're going to blow up at far less power than with balanced injectors.

Don't trust their claims, request a real datasheet on flow, that goes to at least 160mpa.

I'm running Dynomite Diesel nozzles, and they "seem" to be well-balanced. They admitted to me they don't high-pressure test LLY sticks (at the time), but they have a good rep in the Dodge world. I'm sending them out for independent testing this week.

what is the rough price on this?? if i already purchased the nozzles, what should i expect to get them flow checked(again??) price wise??

I amr running injectors done by extrude hone. I and several others run them and are very happy.

There are two companies I have dealt with that I can say I was very happy with the services. Those are Extrude Hone and Dynomite Diesel Performance. I suggest you call both Jim Bower (724 978 7211) and Lenny Reed (360-794-7974). Both guys are awesome to talk to and deal with. I mainly use Jim Bower because he is very close to me. I can drive down for same day service if needed.

So when people say they are running 40 over injectors for example, the only thing different is just the nozzle? I have one injector starting to get out of spec. Not sure if I should just replace all 8. Would you have to pay additional price on top of new injectors to make them x-amount % over?

We can go much larger with tips, but how much more can the body flow? There must be a point where the tip will be soo large that the body becomes the restriction. Anyone know where this point is? Some day I will do tips and the more info out there about them, the better.

Would checking the balance rates at idle and max rail pressure give an indication to the flow differences, or am I off on my thinking?

for the debate on testing injectors ask maxpowerlb7 what mis-matched injectors did to his motor , i do not have the knowledge to say what it takes to make them matched good enough . if i remember II did his first set . not sure what he replaced them with when the motor had to come back apart

I've had four sets done by a shop up in PA, one set of LBZ's at 65% over, and the other three sets at 30% over (one LBZ and two LB7's) they were flow matched after extrude honing the tips. I have been very well satisfied with the results, they seem to have better balance rates than new originals.

What shop in PA?
extrudehoned.com is in PA but AFAIK they only test the tips and not the flow with them installed on injector bodies at operating pressure.
