i hate to point out the obvious but i think the real problem not being discused , to me its not that i think extrude hone will do a poor job the problem i see is that unless i get them tested on my own dime i will never know , and if there is a problem its my own dime as well if something breaks. and as far as balance rates of course they will be fine because that is not far from the psi they are tested at , at idle we only see around 5k if i remember right from my logs .

Mismatched injectors are a nightmare! I blew my headgasket as a result. It took II four try's to get them decent. They had the nerve to try and charge me to make them right. I'm still not really happy with them after all that trouble.

Been in a few trucks with DDP's, seems to be a very good product. I'm gonna replace the II's with DDP's in the near future.

Which is why I asked about 26K rail pressure at idle in the tune. I'm going to build a tune to check this since I can't scan and use the DVT controls at the same time. I'll make the base fuel pressure go to max when the engine is up to operating temp at idle, and then see what the balance rates are. I'll do this for both the stock nozzles and honed.

What process does II use, EDM or extrude honed?

Why not? It works for me.

I messed with a set of II injectors and was not happy with them. Switch to 45% overs from Jim at Extrude Hone and it ran much better.

Anything over 30% I use Lenny at DDP. Every big set I have had him do have been with in 1/2 LPM. I run a 45% over DDP in my truck and have had great luck. II treated maxpowerlb7 like he had no feelings :D

I have a set of extrude nozzles that where flowed and balanced by the place in Pa also. That place is Proformance Injection. They work very well and are at a very close specification.

I apologize for misinformation on my post...I thought my injectors were extrude honed...but I was wrong. Theyre the Big Dipper specials.

I've diagnosed a lot of trucks running junk injectors done by various Companies. The ones where they EDM a couple of holes are a bad idea IMHO. Also had some II units come in a customer truck and they were absolutely terrible.

A few years back I spent a lot of $$$$ testing them dynamically to ensure that the performance at pressure matched what the extrude specs were. This is where/why the 45% figure came from.

Most used nozzles that we tested flowed about 30% low. A very thorough chemical clean can bring them back to spec so it has to be simply carbon. What's really odd is that stock trucks with fair miles don't really seem to be down on power to relect this 30% low..

Dmaxvaz, can you please refrain from using the caps lock when you type your replies? It is somewhat annoying to read your posts when the majority of your words are all caps.
