I guess your right about that. But how many other people have to get there flow rates programed?

I tried programming mine but kept getting an invalid/error. I'm guessing since I have LMM injectors in my LBZ and was using the LMM numbers.

Try different tunning, that made my rates improve.

Getting the truck dyno tuned this week. Maybe the person I take it to will have a tech2, if so ill have him do that.

I was thinking on doing nozzles, but I was told that you have to adjust the injector body to make them flow right with the bigger nozzles. Could this be your problem. Also does anyone know how to do this adjustment? It is for a lb7 not a lbz through...

The flow rates is what we are referring to as the nima code. Each injector has a number that programmed will adjust the flowrate. It needs to be done on a tech2

A Tech 2 isn't the only way to program those codes. I know both Snap On and AutoEnginuity scan tools can program them.

It may also be some debris washed into the injectors from dusty/dirty lines and/or hoses. Were the parts (fuel lines and hoses) sitting around for a while without being plugged up to keep them clean?

Everything was clean as a whistle. They were installed when I built the motor.

X2 Anthony. When my single cab was stock with a LBZ pump/regulator, it would idle at 8500psi and balance rates were all over the place. Adjusted it correctly and all were within spec.

Thanks Mark! I dont care what the issue was along as it is solved. I can't wait to get this thing on the track and see what it does. Probably gonna get beat up on by the indy boys for awhile since they've had a 2.5 class for awhile. But we'll get better as we go!

Serious question, how do you tune something so bad it makes for bad rates at idle?


It wasn't from high rail pressure but how the fuel was being injected. Motor wasn't happy with the previous tuning. I honestly can't tell you what or why the previous 5 tuners(don't know who they are) tuning had this issue as I didn't care or try to figure it out, I reflashed it to stock with my Tech2 and started fresh and the problem was gone. I can only tell you what I did to resolve this issue. Hope this helps guys. Ben, I'm more than happy to help you down the track this season!
