Glad to hear it where on the east coast? Losing power sucks I feel for the people and now it's getting cold too. I have a generator and can heat with strictly wood if I desire. Both stoves have a decent cook top on them also. Plus with the grill ,we can use that as a oven to bake a cake I can survive! :D

But losing power ya it's horrible and I do feel for those poor folk. :(

If I could help I would.

So ridiculous ain't it? Dumb as dumb gets. :spit:

I lose all respect for people like that. I hope that blows up in their faces and they get sued over that by the people left in the dark. Sad when they won't put that aside in a time of need

So now the Gov wants better communication on exact restoration time to cites and towns. They also want SAFETY a priority when restoring power. Basically some people were trapped with downed wires and trees. Also emergency vehicles could not get through. So the Gov wants all that cleared before restoration and wants a better assessment of complete power restoration. If the fail they are subject to HUGE fines!

Thats the way I understand it.

So now you have linemen or Utility workers what might look like they're mulling around or doing other things instead of restoration ,basically getting the power on.

Then comes along DUMB Joe Public that has NO CLUE how the system runs nor the rules and regulations they are under do to this liberal Governor these individuals elected have stuck his nose in and possibly caused some delay in power restoration! So they're out there taking their frustration out on the wrong people!

I was on the road during this event and Mac is spot on. We ran 260 or so events that were basic tree on wire calls as well as regular alarm runs. The Chief pulled us as soon as the trees started snapping like thunder all around us. After about an hour, we went back out and basically divided up the events by priority and if the trees contained wires or not. We cleared the trees without lines, and UI had a "make safe" team disconnecting power so the other trees could be cleared. Once all that was done, they started to restore power from the main roads down to the side roads and the most people serviced to the least at the same time. My power just came back 1:30 this afternoon...Thank god for my generator...

As far as the people are concerned, the dispatch desk had one idiot story after the other...

Welcome to the Northeast, liberalism on full display.......OBAMA voters everywhere, Mayor "five foot" Bloomberg and all the other retards that run the machine up here.

Let's see, no power, no food, no water........lets schedule a NY Marathon and turn away Non-Union Untility crews because some Union mighl lose a little "OT"........screw the old, sick and dying........it's all about the precious Union !

Everyone in those areas is so dependent on the Government they can't even fend for themselves.........Staten Island is destroyed, 100+ homes in Queens to a fire, all the electrical systems were flooded by saltwater........and guess what ??? NYC and NJ are all broke........no money.

Makes you wonder if something truly bad happened like a Nuke or reactor meltdown how things would go.

Makes you want to move west to Montana or the Dakota's and live off the land away from people who would kill you in a second for your sneakers.
