Everybody holding up on the east coast hurricane?

How much snow early reports or forecast said some out there in this area were to expect snow in the feet! I heard that somewhere they were going to get four feet!
Just as dad got the generator brought out and hooked up to the furnace, and went and got a bite to eat at the lil eatery in our town, the power was restored. Ironic thing is that eatery is on the same grid as me. So he knew before he got back to my house :rofl: That was around 2 pm yesterday. Felt great to relax in a warm bed last nite and not have to worry. :woott:

Just kidding I never lost power and live I dunno a hour or so North from Orange anyway be safe your heading into a war zone if you go further south from Orange.
Down here on Long Island we got hit pretty good! Still no power as of this morning at my house. Down towards the city there was houses swepped into the bay, full oil tanks bopping out there too. Three houses in a row at my girlfriends house had threes ON them. About 8 trees dropped within eye sight of my place. Two trees fell on my equipment trailer bending the jacks. Lots and lots of traffic lights out, gas stations are mobbed as well. Going to be a long time before its back to 'normal'.
Alright now I want to extend my sincere gratitude to you line workers for breaking your balls here and helping us out here in CT.
I also want to apologize for the few screwballs in Bridgeport who have decided to take their frustration out on the linemen when their anger should be aimed at our politicians!
Our politicians specifically with last years storm(s) set policy that is making it more difficult for the Utilities company's to get power restored!
So for those egg throwing idiots I hope you end up getting arrested! Shame Shame Shame on you! They rank right up there with the looters in NYC!

One of my customers lives on the North Shore I haven't heard from him this week! They are in Sound Beach whats it like over there if you know?
Looks like i maybe getting shipped out to New Jersey area for no less then 2 weeks.

It's not "TOO" bad up that way I don't think? It's almost due North of me, but I'm sure being right on the sound like that they must have gotten a lot of trees down for sure. There is still North of 600,000 people without power. Making phone calls and even text messages are extremely difficult.
Thanks for the info! I've been out on Long Island but only 2-3 times busy congested and all that can't imagine what it would be like with a major storm like we just had blow through there!

Yup bunch of douche bags if you ask me. Last year the Governor blew up a shit storm over CL&P and UI the two electric distributors in CT over their preparedness and restoring of service. Along with their over all lets call it maintenance ,tree trimming. line replacement BS .
Well we had back to back storms in 2011. First a hurricane then a freak nor'easter snow storm in October. Nobody expected this shit so yea they had some issues.
So now the Gov wants better communication on exact restoration time to cites and towns. They also want SAFETY a priority when restoring power. Basically some people were trapped with downed wires and trees. Also emergency vehicles could not get through. So the Gov wants all that cleared before restoration and wants a better assessment of complete power restoration. If the fail they are subject to HUGE fines!
Thats the way I understand it.
So now you have linemen or Utility workers what might look like they're mulling around or doing other things instead of restoration ,basically getting the power on.
Then comes along DUMB Joe Public that has NO CLUE how the system runs nor the rules and regulations they are under do to this liberal Governor these individuals elected have stuck his nose in and possibly caused some delay in power restoration! So they're out there taking their frustration out on the wrong people!
Bridgeport CT is a very mixed ethnic area with some very upper white class to slums. I wonder where these egg tossers are? Probably same area where they are looting in NYC.

Well i got released from National Grid last night in Mass my company is not going down south to help the rest of the restoration... Be safe to all out there fighting the good fight!:thumb:
