Got her on the stand last night, 16.5:1 .020 over fingers pistons, 6480 socal Af carillos, main studs, Arp head studs, Ported LBz heads with socal springs, 60% exergys, exergy 10MM, Danville 66MM billet turbo, BW s480 with race cover, profab manifolds up pipes, bridge, and boost pipe. Keyed crank and cam, Mahle Clevite gasket set. ATI damper, Socal flexplate and arp bolts. I think thats everything. shooting for 850 with this setup. doable?

I didn't see it listed but did you use a girdle or billet mains at all in this build? Also if you don't mind me asking what kinda $$ you got into just shortblock?

I did not use either. ARP main stud kit is all. when I was done with this short block i had 9650$ into it with no gasket kit, that was rods pistons machine work alt fire 6480 cam, ARP main studs and Head studs and a Harmonic balancer. I think that was it. I have LBZ ported heads that I got for 1900$ from a motor that had 500 miles and broke the crank. I also just bought Billet push rods should be here today. and an exergy 10MM pump in the valley to start with. Oh and i bouyght all the LLY stuff from a member here like rocker boxes front cover valve covers plenums and that stuff since this was a LB7 block I started with.that stuff was 550$ also.

What is out there for engine fuel lines? On this engine I would like to do away with the hard lines and go with a stainless braided or something like that. I know when I did all my Profab stuff I have to bend the valley ones quite a bit.

Fleece S471/87 turbo and complete Werhli Custom Fab S400 install kit w/ gated pedistal ordered. Powder coated same blue as the Socal Valve covers that are on it. After that I guess thats about it unless I decide to sell my exergy 60's and go with 100's, probly should.

Got a wild hair and pulled the cab and she is ready to come out. time to swap and see if I can have it dialed in for Huntin f4 horsepower in Sept. its ready to lift out but I want to swap all the fuel system and manifolds while its nice to work on sitting there. I kinda want to pull the heads off and see the condition after 45K of 600+, Maybe this winter.

Just because I'm curious, what crank did you use since you went with that AF cam? I see your original motor is still in one piece and you mentioned an LB7 block. Did you use a used crank or new? Very nice build.

I acquired an lb7 from a customer that I did the LLY swap into his 02' the core was only 500 and would have had to ship the motor back to the salvage yard in Az. I credited him the 500$ off the bill and I kept the LB7 and stripped it down and sold what I could off it to recoup the 500$ it was a cali Lb7 too so the heads were not good and 3 of the cylinders had what looked like glow plug tips that had danced around on the pistons and messed up the head beyond what could be resurfaced. so I junked those just used the crank and block and timing gears from the lb7 the rest is aftermarket. the crank checked out good at Portland Engine builders so I hope I don't have an issue. 180K on it though. Thanks

It's in it runs. Sounds awesome. Doesn't even sound like a Duramax anymore when revving it up. I'll try to post a video soon.
