The DELPHI ECM's can't do balance rates while moving or on the throttle, so you only get one at 0MPH and throttle at 0 as well. Ramping up the rail pressure sure helps to show which ones are dribbling.

I knew it would do that If the accelerator was pressed but mine go to zero when ramping up rail pressure in the DVT tab while monitoring real time without recording. I thought you meant it will work if you "record" real time in the scan tool. If it does actualy work when recording thanks for the info because I chalked it up as a big o well. Just never had the desire to save logs from balance rates.

Just beware of the chinese knockoff Tech 2's!!

If its less than 1500-2000 used, or less than ~3,000-4,000 new....its probably a chinese copy/fake.

They work, but Ive heard they have some quirks, occasionally freeze, etc.

That being said, I have a chinese knock-off CANdi module. It was $120 vs. $700 for a real CANdi module. I have to admit...the thing works perfectly, never had one problem with it. And setting it side-by-side with a real CANdi module, you would be hard-pressed to spot any differences.

My Tech 2 is a real SPX/OTC Tech 2 though.

It's worked for me in the past a couple of times. Click teh red tab instead of the yellow one, and then ramp it up. Go back and replay them to see what they went up to.

Okay Guys this is where we are at.

We've listened to your feedback, we've said nothing will change without demonstrated fact. We've requested testing of this issue since November or December 2010, while a couple of people stepped up, no one ever did the tests.

It was raised again in January 2012 and we looked at it again here http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?18202-LB7-LLY-Injector-assignment-dispute. It's been 3 weeks and still no one has stepped up to the plate.

We've supported the LLY Duramax since either 2005 or 2006 (I can't remember exactly), and this is the first issue of this nature documented. LLY development pretty much ceased in 2008.

We've done everything we can to look at the issue as it's reported, we've asked for assistance and now need to say that if we don't get any concrete feedback in the next week or 2 we will close this issue and won't be reviewing this feature. The little feedback we have had indicates the software is working as designed.

Development moves on, the time it takes to switch back to a 4 year old platform is too time consuming for the potential benefit it may add to 1 or 2 customers.

Cheers
Cindy

I know but I don't have a LLY, and I figured someones gotta start somewhere. besides the LB7 was the easiest to get at the wires :angel:

Any chance you could find a buddy with an LLY or maybe another member with an LLY would allow you to hook up the scope to check it?
I'm dying to get this mystery solved because it makes changing the correct injector on your LLY a major PITA even with a V2!

Right now we know:
DVT => Tech 2 (physical order)
1 => ????
2 => ????
3 => ????
4 => ????
5 => ????
6 => ????
7 => 3
8 => ????

Just need help with someone filling in the rest of the numbers. :D

If it is firing order, then it may end up looking something like this:

DVT => Tech 2 (physical order)
1 => 2
2 => 7
3 => 8
4 => 4
5 => 5
6 => 6
7 => 3
8 => 1

This is just a guess so I need someone to verify this for everyone if possible.

Spent a few hours last night figuring this all out. It is more complicated than any of us even thought. It has no correlation to firing order. I'm going to discuss things with Cindy and Ross first and see if they can fix it before wasting time posting how and what we found, only for them to fix it and make it a non-issue.

Missed this sorry, don't get on here much anymore. My buddy traded his LLY for a LBZ so never got the chance, I would like to here Dustins results to.

Dustin, it's been a few weeks and I'm getting close to start checking all my injectors before camping season.

Any chance you could post or PM me what you found so I don't have to play the guessing game on my LLY? :eek:

I still haven't heard anything but I did see another thread where someone found that #6 in DVT = #4 on Tech 2 so I added that above. Now only 6 more slots to verify. I really need to get this done so if anyone else with a Tech 2, V2 and access to an LLY could help I would be most appreciative. :thumb:

Like I said I have completely figured it out and it is more complicated than you are thinking. I am working with EFI Live to have it fixed. If I post my findings then someone will refer to them after it is fixed and still be wrong.

I agree it what I posted above with regards to firing order is not the answer, but when Ross posted over on the EFI board he seemed to indicate he doesn't even think there is an issue with the LLY. :confused: Couldn't we just post the findings for now and then once the software update is complete we can indicate that in this thread that the reference table is now obsolete (the software revision notes should indicate this issue as fixed too)? Seems like a pretty simple solution to me and then all of us could have full functionality of the tool through that workaround and there would be no hurry to do the software revision. I'd be happy to wait if I had a definite date for when it would be fixed, but it doesn't appear to be any priority at this point if they aren't even sure there is an issue at all. Again I appreciate all your hard work on this Dustin, I'm just very frustrated that the tool doesn't work as advertized.
