I'm betting it's a bad probe. Seen it a few times. Seems to be hit or miss, depending on the manufacturer of the probe. And Edge doesn't deny it at all, so they know what's up. When these things act up, they aren't linear at all. It's BAM, 2000 degrees, right out of nowhere. When it happens, you know right away that it isn't possibly correct.

But the hair on the back of your neck stands straight up anyways.....

Brian, go smell you exaust, have james in the truck and put it in drive so you get the engine under a small load while you are doing it

still think you should do the smell test, get up close to the exhaust while James is in the truck.
James, make sure you record it to put on youtube as a how to video

worlds worst troll.......... :D

I could use a piece of paper to check to see if the valves are leaking by holding it against the exhaust tip with the engine running. UTI kid says it works!

I'm on my 3rd EGT probe:mad::mad:. I will be yarding that P.O.S and going back to a 3 gauge pillar setup. I actually like the CTS a lot itself, and might leave it, but I am done with trying to use it to monitor EGTs

yup. kid from UTI went on to explain to me how doing this method on a suzuki samurai will tell you if the valves are bad cause the motor will suck air back in as the piston goes down so the piece of paper will be sucked into the exhaust when it does this.

I had to take him back to engine basics 101, draw pictures, speak very slowly, and tell him "good job" many times when he finally started understanding things. i wish i was kidding but im not. ill see if i can find the old thread. ill have to copy it over as the board im on is private to only suzuki guys in AZ.
