I just looked through the DW rules and they said there is "Special Performance Awards" for quickest diesel among others. I don't think it's a jacket though. I would definately like to check out a DW myself.

I'm not exactly sure. It'll be my first DW. I think the chassis puts me in Unlimited class so my chances of winning with a 9 second truck are pretty well eliminated, unless all the 7 second cars break. The fun level should still be up there though. :)

Very cool project. :thumb: I would love to be able to see it on the line up against Mr. Larson's Nova.

Quick update for those interested. Body is final mounted. Cage is done inside and out the back. Engine/Trans mounts are done, steering is in. Brake master cylinders are mounted. Need to get engine/trans in and build the turbo kit for it before I can finish the cage out the front and final mount the coilovers. After that it's basically just systems, fuel, brakes, cooling, etc. Not feeling real good about making drag week at this point but we'll see what happens, still 6+ months out. Doing the best I can, haven't touched it for a little over a week since my Grandpa died and have had to deal with that. Hoping to hit it again this week.

I see you ended up using steel for the frame. Looks good. I agree that Maple or Ash wouldnt have held up very well.

Sorry to hear about your Grandpa. Keep your chin up.

Thanks for all the compliments on the build and kind words about my Grandfather. He was a pillar of our family and the community he lived in. A huge inspiration to me and an even bigger loss. Just trying to get back to normal as this past month has been a tough one.

The build isn't coming along as smoothly or quickly as I would like but it's my first real build so I guess that's to be expected. I definitely have more behind me than in front, just gotta keep on it. I'll try to keep you guys updated as I get more things done.

Looking awesome! No door bars?

Thanks! The first pics were taken before I got the door bars in. They're in now though, you can see the passenger side one in the last pic of the brake masters.

Been awhile since I've updated. Making some progress. Even with drag week not being an option, I'm still hoping to put some miles on it before snow flies this year. Getting close to mounting the front bodywork and building a bed, then it's just plumbing before I break it all done for paint/powdercoat and final assembly.

Cold side plumbing almost finished.

15 Gal. fuel cell. Should easily have 500+ mile range. (Don't mind the rusty shock spacers, they're temporary. :) )

Had a few asking on another site, so it's probably time for an update. Still slowly making progress. Bedsides and front panel are on and hanging on the bed for now. Still need to finish rear panel and diffuser. The look is kind of "off" until I can give the lower the nose's final line/shape. (Excuse the messy shop.)

Top fuel washable/reusable oil filter mounted. For any of those wondering, I just cut the factory oil cooler/heater at the mounting block and welded on a pair of male -12 fittings.

Seats are upholstered, tunnel sheetmetal is done, cage painted and inside coated. Bench seat is a jeep wrangler back seat.

Davies-Craig EWP115 Water Pump. Comes with a variable speed digital controller so you don't have to run thermostats. Curious to see how it works. Hopefully good for the price tag.

No intercooler? It is looking good. Still think you'll have it going before the first snow?

Thanks! No intercooler for now. Packaging was a major issue. It's a low boost setup so I'm hoping IAT heat won't be too big of a problem. Going to work the math and see what it comes up. I'll add a water kit on a hobbs switch if I need to later.

Doubt I'll have it out before first snow. I haven't been able to work on it as much as a I hoped since I've been busy with other things. Just chipping away til it makes noise.
