he's asking for the price of the adaptor kit to run duals, not the axle kit. Or were you making a funny saying he'll need to also spend the $2500 if he does the duals?

Yup! Guys were toasting stock axles with single wheels, I can only imagine what "non dually" duals will do....

Also, stacking spacers is alot like stacking lift blocks (can be done, but a big safety NoNo).

One spacer bolts to the other, then to the next, and then finally the wheel bolts to the final spacer, but the 8 studs in the axle are still responsible for holding the hole "stacked" assembly with added leverage together.

Could it work.....quite possibly.
From a safety standpoint, I don't think our club would allow it (might be something to consider as well......to go through all that work and $$$ and not be allowed to run).

As for Kusilek's, he posted over on DP that he machined those spacers himself (IIRC).

Wes had 2 trucks, so it depends on which one you were talking about.

That makes sense. Thanks

I believe the ones he made were for the "Mod" truck as there were no commercially available adapters for his unique setup.

Although I could be wrong (has happened a time or two before ), but I'm pretty sure I saw it posted by him on the initial build.

Edit: I found the post over on DP

Spacers look to be 12" long or more to accomodate the dual "non-dually" tires.

"Here are a few new pictures of the truck, my dad just got done building custom dually spacers. We have decided for the pull in march in IL we will most likely just pull in the 3.0 class. It will be the first pull ever with the truck and we need more than 1 pull to figure things out. We do plan still pulling it in the mod. class, but not tell later on and not until we get the bugs worked out"

I think I got it figured out I got some duals off of a gooseneck and the way they are dished and with a 2 inch spacer to start with then put the dual wheel on then a 3 inch spacer then my eagle alloys will bolt on perfect I will post some pic's this weekend

you sure the tire won't hit the springs with just a 2" spacer on before the inner wheel? I was thinking 3" would have to be used.

Regardless, I hope I'm wrong and 2" works!! :thumb:

Reason why i was asking is that I have a friend who has a 2wd lb7 around 500 horse and he was gonna try our new 8000lb 2wd diesel class

IMHO it will do better with a wide single. Get some wide micky thompson classic II wheels. And put some 15.50 or wider tires on it.

Im trying to find some used 285 tires to see how it gonna be on the wheel I have some pics up later

With the dually inner and regular outter is shouldn't be too bad (as long as the axle has the strength to turn them without breaking). Hopefully the 2" inner spacer will be enough.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I agree with you, We would like some wider wheels and tires to put on the 2wd but we are on a budget right now because it took all his money to put in a trans, so we are using what we have handy to us right now and i myself would like to try this and it work so I can run dual's on my truck when the track is muddy

285 on dually wheels WILL bolt on WITHOUT a spacer between the wheels. I know cause I've bolted them on. The tires will be touching, a LOT. :D

It takes two people - one to hold the wheel up and another to get the nuts started cause the outter wheel won't go all the way on. It gets seated against the other wheel when you tighten down the lug nuts.

Let it be noted right away, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FOR STREET USE. It shouldn't be any problem but i wouldn't run it without a spacer between the wheels on the road.

What is the specs on that wheel? Looks like it will work great with 285's. Is that with a 2" spacer?

Thats with a 2 inch spacer and I have no idea what brand the wheels are but they are 16 inch and I think 6.5 width all I know is that they are off of a gooseneck trailer I was just walking through a friends barn and looked over and seen 10 of these brand new wheels just laying on the ground and i was like :D I can use those, so he let me have 2 so now when I get a tire put on them I will post some more pics to see what kind of clearance im gonna have
