You will need a dually axles as they are 2" wider on each side with 2" wheel spacers in between the wheels or you can use your srw axle and use 3" spacer on the inside and 2" spacers in between the wheels.

Matt Moons truck ran them for a whole season and only broke 1 axle the last pull of the season .

Yall pull in a dust bowl out there trent:D Alot easier on drivetrain when you can spin out.

Reason why i was asking is that I have a friend who has a 2wd lb7 around 500 horse and he was gonna try our new 8000lb 2wd diesel class

If he does try this setup make sure he welds his axle tubes

Hey trent is matts truck a 2.6 or a 2.8 and about how much horse is he making

ALOT, runs 11.20's on 33's at stupid elevation

The tracks look a lot looser out there though. Come to a midwest track, and it will break.
exactly, it is not uncommon for us to put a set of moser axles in troys truck every 4 to 5 pulls. usually after 1 or 2 they are twisted, but he is a tight ass, so he runs them till they break. he did finally switch the 38 spline stuff with much better luck at the end of the year.

Burkhard sells a dually kit which allows you to run your normal rim on the outside. Does anyone know how it works? Also if you change to 4.10 gears is that alright for the odd trip down the drag strip?

Yes. See above post referring to Burkhardt's product.

..... or use a spaceron the axle and run dually style wheels. 285's can be used without spacers. air them down, mount the outside wheel the air them up. DO NOT RUN THEM ON THE STREET THIS WAY!

...and as mentioned above, parts failure WILL happen on our clay tracks. (if you have enough HP)
