i see. ever since i first started modding my truck id read about people saying dual fuelers kill stock motors, but never heard someone say the same about a modded single. So if i got duals, it would be a good idea to lower commanded rail pressure a little?

Lower pulse width, or at least limit fuel in the lower RPM range.

Yeah. Buck was in the tens back in 06. Guys popped motors before duals. All the fun was when motors were grenading and there were no aftermarket rods yet. So it was put in another motor till she blows. But back then the allison technology was still learning too. So you had alot of trans failures too. Not to mention, you have no idea what its like for an alli to relearn shifts with 3 stacked programmers.:D

BigD lives a few minutes away from me....I remember seeing his truck saga unfold firsthand:thumb:

Oh man....he and I almost had a fistfight over all that crap. Roger Zeedyke's (sp) never-ending engine saga was painful to watch, too.

Ratlover rolling his black truck, Merchant buying and rebuilding it.

Keying cams and cranks....

When ARP came out with their head/main studs and people realizing they had to line bore their mains to keep the crank spinning.

Nasty Girl's multiple failures and successes.

Remember when Drew joined up at DP, and shocked EVERYONE with just how much he knew (for a ten year old)??? Damn good kid.

I believe Juice had the first set of Dmax twins, didnt he?

BTW, only reason I said anything about dual fuelers blowing motors was because people kept running those high-pulse, high timing stacks or boxes with them, and with all that fuel.....well....we all know where what that'll do (kaboom), even now.

James,
This was the exact same thing my dad and I were doing early 02 when he bought his 01 I own now. The duramaximizer was what sold my father and I on diesel performance, Ill always remember the video PPE had of white duramax funning down mustangs and vettes at the track! Was a good time for sure.

Another funny story is the first NEGTG my father and I attended, they raffled off an edge juice(well before the attitude monitor) and the guy who won already had one so I begged my dad to buy it off the guy....so he did! Tony being the instigator he is, came over and showed us how to hook it up, shows us how to set it with the throttle pedal (Level 4 :thumb:) and gets a whole bunch of guys from the get-together to go for a ride. He gets my dad to come to full stop and tells him to hold the brakes and bring the RPM's up to 2200 and let off the brakes (knowing the tires would break loose well before that)......to make a long story short, there were two longgggg black strips going down the road and a truck full of guys laughing their asses off. It was a good time for sure and an awesome time to be around and witness.

Lol dude thats scary. We are way too much alike. Still waitin on you to come out and detail my truck :D

I remember joining dp near the end of nasty girls runs. Everyone thought the allison would never live behind that kind of power nor make consistant 10s runs.

Shit it wasnt long ago people thought the allison would be able to handle 9s lol

I remember thinking Edge was the shit, and anyone with a SCIII was a god. Bastard stack ruled, PPE vs TTS, Banks, threads about intake and exhaust gains, hundreds of limped trans.
Remember the first 2 DP challenges? Soup man getting press for Nick's nitrous guzzling, stock motor truck, Moss doing well with no lift pump, Tomac kicking ass with an A5K.
Crazy

A half a dozen motors or so and one transfer case since '05 but not one Mike L allison built failure on Casper, that I can remember. Some of the early testing made the place look more like a chemistry lab than a race shop....wow its been a lot of stuff in a short amount of time. Good thread :thumb:
