im still running stacked boxs preditor and van akken hot, let me tell ya it smokes like a frieght train!!!! it is a pretty fast set up, never dyno-ed or drag raced at the track, but on the street it would hang with 6.7 dodge and lmm with stacked boxes as well:thumb:

I remember watching when the duramaximizer first came out way back in late 01. My dad had jsut got the 02 (august of 01) that i now have and we were watching a video on dial up of a duramaximized truck at the drag strip. My dad couldnt get over the fact a diesel was doing a big ass burnout like that in the begining of the vid lol. So he bought a duramaximizer and put it in.

I also remember puttin the first edge chip in back when Guy was selling them and before the "attitude" was availible (wanna say around late 02 or early 03). My dad took me out for a test drive on lvl 3 and smoked the tires off from a little boosted launch. ooohhhh good time :D

I guess stacking boxes is still being done.. I have a predator I found in the garage that can be for sale. This thread is making me nostalgic for my 03 I just sold.

well I got my truck in 06' EFI live was out by then. When I got my trans done 1056 or 1057 were the only converters suncoast offered.

For turbos the only options were BD, HTT PPE's 4094 and The Aurora 5K

MPI was the only company making twins.

I started with a Edge EZ, PPE boost valve and stock exhaust straight piped.

It was good for 14.4 in the 1/4 :baby:

James,
This was the exact same thing my dad and I were doing early 02 when he bought his 01 I own now. The duramaximizer was what sold my father and I on diesel performance, Ill always remember the video PPE had of white duramax funning down mustangs and vettes at the track! Was a good time for sure.

Another funny story is the first NEGTG my father and I attended, they raffled off an edge juice(well before the attitude monitor) and the guy who won already had one so I begged my dad to buy it off the guy....so he did! Tony being the instigator he is, came over and showed us how to hook it up, shows us how to set it with the throttle pedal (Level 4 :thumb:) and gets a whole bunch of guys from the get-together to go for a ride. He gets my dad to come to full stop and tells him to hold the brakes and bring the RPM's up to 2200 and let off the brakes (knowing the tires would break loose well before that)......to make a long story short, there were two longgggg black strips going down the road and a truck full of guys laughing their asses off. It was a good time for sure and an awesome time to be around and witness.

Im gonna hi jack my own thread real quick

can one of you smart ol guys explain to me how/why dual fuelers "pop stock motors"
i understand the amount of fuel they can flow, but if tuning was kept the same between a modded single and dual fuelers, how are the duals any worse on the engine then the modded single pump?

If the modded single is holding desired rail pressure and the duals dont go over desired i dot see it being possible:confused:

from what I remember

Super Diesel beating Maddog at a dyno event, 7XXhp on nitrous, propane & W/M
NLDP running 11.07 at IRP nationals in 05
hearing about dual CP3s at ^
HeartbeatCanada windowing his block on the way down to IRP
Buck running 1st 10 sec pass at Rockingham in 06(?) & winning 1st pro street race by a Dmax
McRat running the 1st 11 sec pass on fuel
Quad supposedly running the 1st 10 sec pass, no proof was ever shown, carrotcrafter kept boasting about it
DTT Allison kits got a horrible reputation cause of Chad's truck
Most people thought Suncoast sucked cause of Mackin's experience
ATS had a good reputation
Juice Grips
Max Payne's GF or wife chest pic as his avatar
Thebac's UPS girl with cameltoe

They come on alot harder and are alot more responsive. When i bolted the dual fuelers to my old truck with the same tuning it acted like a totally diffrent ride. With the 4094 there was no turbo lag. Its kinda hard to explain besides that until you do it. Also if i remember right dual fuelers were out before EFI live got big. Running the basterd stack and dual fuelers :D plus when EFI was new there was no great tuners. People just tried whatever and hoped for the best.

assuming dual fuelers are tuned properly and a modded single is tuned properly....whats the difference? i hear people saying dual fuelers kill stock motors...but modded singles dont?

its been keeping me up at night dude.....

If 26k+ is maintained then a single vs duals will not matter. The single will just have to work alot harder than the duals. Back in the day when duals came out with stacked tuners that had huge timing and pw and you could actually hold rail, it was all over for alot of guys. The difference between holding 21k and 26k can be 100hp with nothing else changed.

i see. so the whole "dual fuelers kill stock motors" applied back when people didnt have efi live and were stacking shit. So would it be safe to say, that when tuned properly, dual fuelers are just as safe as a modded single.....?

When did anyone ever say dual CP3s would pop a stock motor any easier than a modded single? They will pop them easier than a stock single, but that is because most max effort tunes will not hold desired rail pressure at full fuel. Change from a stock CP3 to duals, and you will have a lot more power on tap.

i see. ever since i first started modding my truck id read about people saying dual fuelers kill stock motors, but never heard someone say the same about a modded single. So if i got duals, it would be a good idea to lower commanded rail pressure a little?
