These are some slick setups. How many gph pump would you need for 500-550 hp? I don't see me ever having more than that. What pump do you guys recommend?
150-160 range is plenty for that target HP

Is it mandatory to have a lift pump to run aux filters? It will probably be at least a year before I get a built transmission and really need the extra fuel.
With the check valve, would it be better/more effective if you put it before or after the system. And which is better, a push or pull system as far as the pump/ filters go.(why)
The pump is wired to a relay, The relay is a switch that is activated with a 12V charge, so you get power from a fuse that only has power when the key is on. It make it a lot easier then turning the pump on and off.So I'm new to the whole modification to pickups is that pump wired to the ignition so its on when the key is on or do you have to pop the hood and turn it on and off all the time

Thx brother I appreciate it I've worked on big trucks my whole life and know quite a bit but I'm just now getting into big aftermarket stuff I just bought a 2006 Chevy 3500 with Alison trans and the lbz duramax I had another one a couple years back left it stock but this one I'm gonna go pretty big on thx brotherThe pump is wired to a relay, The relay is a switch that is activated with a 12V charge, so you get power from a fuse that only has power when the key is on. Been meaning to do the same to mine just never got around to it. Also thought about putting a momentary switch for when priming I can do it under the hood. The switch is for tuning... So you can have the key on to load tunes or whatever and not have the pump deadheading the whole time.
