I'm serious I have a lot of customers who send me logs and they never actually get to 100% throttle position. They end up at 91 or so and that is not enough.

I had a dude that sent a log once and wouldn't see 100% TPS, we went though a few diagnostics before I asked "Is there any chance your floor mat is sticking under the pedal or anything like that?" :spit: yep! :roflmao:

Been testing this out with an lly tcm tune. I think I will stick with my Lockup Box. Sometimes it locks in the middle of second, other times it doesn't. Sometimes it stays locked, or it decides to lock and unlock a few times. The Lockup is super soft compared to the box. Soft enough it is hard to tell if it has locked, with the box on there is no question.

I plan to keep playing with it but I have low expectations so far.

Can you adjust ramp up rate of the tcc solenoid?

Does your truck lock up soft in tow haul mode when easy cruising?

I imagine I could, but have never noticed a difference before when playing with those tables. I am skeptical that they do anything. Does Bens box use those tables or does it have its own set of tcc controls?

In tow haul it has a nice firm lockup.

From what I could see, they didn't extend the lockup ramp tables out, just added in the lockup cutout tables. I know the person that did it on his own extended out the ramp up tables so he could control how it locked. For me it is worthless since it doesn't work for 01 OS's, so I'm uninstalling the new version, and going back to the old one. I don't tune LML's, can't correct my lockup, so theres no reason for it for me. And no reason to have a software version with restrictions in it because I'm in the US.

Ferman, doesn't the bootblock/ firmware prevent you from going back to the older software, or does that only apply if you update the handheld?

I've got mine locking hard enough to break the tires loose in 2nd. I adjusted the ramp on rate & disabled the inhibited lock completely. Just maxing out the slip rpm made it act stupid. Disable b5233 & make sure all your other tables agree. Your lock & unlock speeds have to agree. One table locks it & the other unlocks it. Don't have the tables fighting each other. I'm keeping my box just in case the tcm gives me trouble at the track but in testing it has stayed locked even on my biggest tune.

Now the wot lock isn't as quick as the box. It takes a while after it hits 2nd. Not instant like the box. I have a very loose converter so I have fun going 75 or 80% throttle then once the turbo's lit punching it. It drops 800 to 1000 rpm & the tires scream every time. I probably should stop doing that if I want this thing to last the rest of the race season lol!

Not when I never updated my V2. I purposely neevr update my V2 until I know I like the new version. I have 2 laptops and a desktop. I always try updates out on one laptop before I apply them to my others.

Whats the point of downgrading???

Why update if it has no benefits to me? I can only run the 01 TCM OS and have it work correctly in my swap. I've tried the 02, and 03/04 LB7 OS several times now, and they always have little quirks with my swap. The 01 is the only one that works consistently without wierd banging shifts and other anomilies. Secondly I'm not fond of upgrading to a software version with US based restrictions. I know others are getting around it, but I just don't like the idea of it being there. Third, most everybody I do tunes for is still using the old software. And tunes written with the new software will no longer work in the older releases. So there is no reason for me To upgrade. I tried it out to see if the lockup tables were there, and was disappointed to say the least when I found out they weren't. And with the tune file format changes that make it so old tunes will work in newer software, but new tunes won't work in the older software was the last straw for me.

So the question is why would I upgrade when it provides me ZERO enhancements to any platofrm I tune. And with the file format changes it's not like I can have somebody send me a tuen they read out, modify, and send it back for them to flash in when they are running the older versions.

Unless something has changed lately, the that update hasn't been released.

I've got mine locking hard enough to break the tires loose in 2nd.

just how mine worked.

Im not expecting this flash to work exactly like bens box. i couldnt get his to work like i wanted it too. All ive wanted is TC lock up when its suppose to every time i hit the throttle in normal mode (not tow/haul). i dont need the unlock button or the lock button. i was ok with just having to push a button ever time i got in the truck for the "auto feature" but it wouldnt work. when this came out i was :happy2: cause now it works and i just jump in the truck and go.

the orignal post was not to say people shouldnt buy lock up boxes. From what ive seen, bens and others box work damn well for people certain applications. These new tables happen to be just perfect for me so i posted this up for others who may have been in my same boat with what i wanted.

BY NO MEANS IS THIS DIG AT ANYONE NOR AM I INSINUATING ANYTHING. not the intention of anything i just said :D

ok.....I still dont see the point in going through the trouble of downgrading the software......

Why are people you tune for still using the older software??? Are they really that afraid of updating? Like its a big deal to update to the newer software? Maybe we should uninstall windows 7 and go back to windows 98. I mean windows 98 worked fine, didnt it?

And the "US software restrictions"...it doesnt effect you since you dont tune LML's. Or is it just the "idea" that "THE MAN" is "invading" your software annoy you enough to actually want to uninstall it.

Im just saying, there are always tons of stability improvements, table description revisions, scan tool improvements "under the surface" of newer software versions that improve everything. Especially updates to the V2 firmware and boot block. And the scan tool has lots of improvements too.

I dunno, obviously its your choice, but to me it just seems silly to not update (and actually go through the trouble of downgrading) when there so many other improvements besides the lockup tables.

The change to .CTZ files makes sense too...since you cant black-box-flash .tun files anyway, so theres no reason to still use .tun files IMO.

I told him the update is free, but I'm not chipping in on any tickets LOL

Steve,

Did my truck get this update when socal bench flashed my ecm? I havent had any issues with t/c lock up yet. Seems to do really well if it doesnt have this update.
