Are the chains in some sort of case? I've never seen one. The stockers are really tough, how many have you ever seen broken on a drag strip? The first time I ever drove Max'd Out I way over boosted it on the launch (50+) and did a 4x4 burn out that would have made John Force proud. Had them all spinning enough to go completely through the gears and then down shift when it finally hooked. T-case took it fine, not so much the front differential. Started the ring gear on it's way out, lasted another 3 passes until we noticed a hole in the case.:D

Casper broke one but I agree its rare. If it breaks in my truck ill look at something different but untill then im trying to keep this a simple project
we all know what happens when you change a bunch of stuff at the same time:D

I just thought it would be cheaper then getting a adapter made. I can't find a good picture but I will look when I get my computer back:hug:

I will see if I can find a picture. But I don't think they are encased.

Not sure but i would imagine we would have to implement some sort of gaurd around the chain incase it snapped to pass tech

probably someone has allready done it but again that just adds more complexity:)

I was looking at some set ups though and appreciate your input

Might be able to just use a drive shaft since we will need new shafts anyways because of the different lenth of the Lenco

Ted and I talked about it....we might end up that rought

Not sure how big of tires we could get with out severe alteration though

One thing I don't like about going Lenco. Well actually two things is Loss of converter lock up and loss of over drive.

Going 2wd makes sense because of lack of gear options for our axles.

No John I know 3 people using overdrive from gear vendors or other people? And converter lock up is done with the bruno it's a 400 dollar otption but it's doable :)-

The gear vendors work great but I never seen one that went before the T case. So two wheel drive only as far as I know.

$400 for converter lock up plus the converter does sound like a bad deal to me.

Learn something new everyday.

The overdive thing the stock T case isnt going to bolt up to the lenco anyways so why not just hook up the overdive to the tans and then to the T case with nothing just going to bolt up to start with doest seem like it would be tomuch of a deal braker to me

Spoke with Nick at gear vendors and they can adapt a 32 spline t-case adapter that bolts diectly to the lenco and then has the 32 on the opposite side.

Bad part is that isnt a stock t-case and i will need to either do a custom or use a t-case disigned for a turbo 400 or 4l80e....

The drawback to a clutch is it's a lot harder to get the turbo's to spool on a drag truck setting on the line.

I believe a 241 input shaft will drop right into a 261/263 transfer case as that is what the guy at DP did with his DMAX S-10. Problem being though is the 32 spline shaft is quite a bit smaller than the 29 that the ALLISON has. Also I believe you can run a 271 transfer case out of a DODGE and get a 32 spline input in it.
